Just picked up this Danish teak sideboard. Can anyone help me verify if it's true MCM or a later reproduction?

I just picked up this Danish teak sideboard and absolutely love the look of it, but I’m trying to narrow down its history. I’m hoping the MCM experts here can help me determine if this is an authentic, period-correct mid-century piece or a later-decade reproduction/revival item.

The overall design has those classic Scandinavian modern lines, sliding doors, sculpted organic handles on the lower drawers, and beautiful teak veneer.

A few notes on the construction and materials:

The main body:

The top, sides, and interior shelves I think are constructed with veneered particle board.

The base: The legs and the lower structural frame are made of solid wood.

The lower drawers: Feature standard, clean dovetail joints.

The shallow interior pull-out trays: they are green felt lined (picture 2), and the front and the back have two different styles of joinery. The back of the drawers has distinctive, rounded joints that look like a variation of a Knapp or scallop joint (picture 3), and the front has traditional locking/housed joints (Picture 4).

There are no obvious manufacturer stamps, badges, or paper labels left on the back or underside.
Given the mix of solid wood framing and veneered particle board, along with that unique drawer joinery, does anyone recognize the potential maker or region of manufacture? Would love to know your thoughts on its era and authenticity! Thanks in advance.

Is it normal to not be able to receive money on WeChat while outside China?

I will be traveling to China from the US. A friend who is currently in China tried to send me some RMB on WeChat, but when I tried to accept it, I got a message (see screenshot in my comment) saying "This service is temporarily unavailable for users in the current region". I was able to receive money on WeChat when I was in China last year, so I wonder if it's normal to not be able to receive money while outside China. Thanks!

2012 Chateau Barde-Haut to start the weekend

On the nose, cherry, strawberry, dark chocolate, pencil shavings, and earthy and savory/soy saucy notes.

On the palate, plums, fresh, great acidity, smooth tannins, medium body, long finish

I think I paid $35 for this a few years ago. It’s a great value!

Billed $86 by supposedly "out-of-network" Urgent Care, but my Blue Shield HMO portal explicitly says "Patient Responsibility: $0.00." What are my next steps?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on a billing dispute between Carbon Health and Blue Shield of California (HMO with UCLA Medical Group).

The Background: I visited a Carbon Health urgent care clinic last December (2025) for an urgent medical need. I have been to this exact clinic multiple times in 2025 and have a consistent history of paying my standard $10 HMO copay. I paid the $10 at the front desk like usual.

The Issue: A couple of months later, I received a bill from Carbon Health for an additional $86.04 (see first screenshot). I filed a dispute with Carbon Health, but they recently responded stating that the claim was processed as "out-of-network," so I am liable for the remaining balance of $86.04.

The Twist: I logged into my Blue Shield portal and looked up the finalized claim details (see second screenshot). The claim was successfully routed under my capitated IPA tier (UCLA Medical Group).

  • Amount Billed: $415.00
  • Paid by Blue Shield: $128.96
  • Patient Responsibility: $0.00

I called both Blue Shield and UCLA Medical Group, and their phone reps told me that based on their records, they had already paid Carbon Health nearly $129 and I should be responsible for $0.

So what are my next steps??

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Part of 100 year old house’s cripple wall is crumbling. How screwed am I?

This is a small, 100 year old one story house in Southern California. It has a crawl space. Earthquake brace and bolt has been done before. The cripple wall has a chunk that basically crumbled and fell out. How bad is this? And what can be done that is NOT a total foundation replacement (I can't afford that in the immediate future, unfortunately :( ). Thanks!

See photo below . The affected spot is about 7-8 inches wide.

How bad is this crumbling cripple wall? :(

This is a 100 year old house in Los Angeles. The cripple wall has a chunk that basically crumbled and fell out. How bad is this? And what can be done that is NOT a total foundation replacement (I can't afford that right now, unfortunately). Thanks!

EDIT (Additional info added):

It's a 910 sqft single story house, with a crawl space. It has had earthquake brace & bolt work done before. I do think this area somewhat gets some moisture, especially in the evening and early morning, but I wouldn't say it's particularly wet because I don't water this part of my yard at all. The wood siding is not soft.

Anyone familiar with CJ Rosengaarden? Just bought a dining table and want to learn more about the manufacturer's history and quality.

I purchased a Danish dining table from Facebook Marketplace, and the maker’s mark says CJ Rosengaarden. I googled the name but it seems that information regarding this manufacturer is fairly sparse — the top search results were past listed items on various online vintage resellers. What was the reputation like? How was the quality of its furniture? Thanks!

First loaf of sourdough this year 😋

I was honestly surprised by how quickly my starter woke back up after sitting unfed in the back of the fridge for over 6 months. Talk about resilient!

Here is the breakdown for this loaf:

The Specs:
Flour Blend: 400g King Arthur Bread Flour + 100g Whole Foods 365 Organic Whole Wheat

Water: 375g

Starter: 100g (active liquid starter)

Salt: 12g

Hydration: 77.2%

The Method

  1. Autolyse: Mix the flours and water, then let rest for 30 minutes to develop early gluten structure.
  2. Incorporate Starter: Mix in the active starter (and salt, if using) until fully combined.
  3. Bulk Fermentation: Perform 5 sets of stretch-and-folds spaced 30 minutes apart. Once the folds are complete, let the dough ferment undisturbed for another 2 hours.
  4. Pre-shape & Rest: Gently pre-shape the dough and let it rest on the counter for 30 minutes to relax the gluten.
  5. Final Shape & Cold Proof: Shape into a tight boule, place into a proofing basket, and slide it into the fridge for a 23-hour cold retardation.
  6. The Bake: Prebaked in a covered Dutch oven at 475°F for 30 minutes. Removed the lid and dropped the temperature to 425°F for an additional 20 minutes until a deep, blistered crust formed.
  7. Cooling: The hardest part: letting it rest on a wire rack before slicing!

Anyone dealt with LA Animal Services’ nuisance barking process?

My neighbor has a small dog that’s left outside all day, completely unattended, and it barks at literally everything that moves. If I’m doing yard work for two hours, it will bark nonstop for the entire two hours. Even when the owner is home, he doesn’t try to stop it - he basically told me “dogs bark” and that his dog can bark as much as it wants on his property.

I filed a nuisance barking complaint with LA Animal Services and got a response saying that if the noise continues after 15 days, I can file a second complaint. The part I’m stuck on is that the second complaint requires an additional complainant from a separate residence. The problem is that while other neighbors are also annoyed by the barking, they’re hesitant to put their names on anything because they’re worried about retaliation.

Has anyone dealt with nuisance barking complaints in LA, especially the second‑complaint process? Do the additional complainants stay anonymous to the dog owner, or will their info be disclosed?
