I built my firs home server, for SMB, adblocker, torrent, and some lil things

AMD Opteron 3365 8core, clocked down 1,6GHz@0,975V max

960G Mobo because the IGP

2x4GB DDR3

1x480GB SSD

6x500GB 2,5" 5400rpm

1x640GB 2,5" 5400rpm

2x1TB WD Blue 7200rpm

Overall 5TB HDD

I made powersaving things, so Idle 37W, max CPU load with reading all drive is 78W. With normal usage it is 46-52W from the wall.

Planning a new UT2004 Server (CTF/ONS/AS, Map Voting, huge map pool) – Looking for feedback!

Hi everyone!

I recently built a dedicated NAS, which gives me a great opportunity to host a stable, 24/7 Unreal Tournament 2004 server. Before setting everything up, I wanted to gauge the community's interest and get some feedback.

Here are the initial plans for the server:

  • Game Modes: I’m thinking about CTF (Capture the Flag), ONS (Onslaught), and AS (Assault). Which of these would you be most excited to play?
  • Maps: I plan to download and include as many maps as possible from the UT-archive to offer a massive variety compared to currently active servers.
  • Mods: It will feature MapVoting, but other than that, I prefer to keep it vanilla. I feel extra mods might be unnecessary, but let me know what you think.

Server Specs & Location:

  • Connection: 1000/1000 Mbps (symmetric Gigabit fiber)
  • Location: Central Europe (Hungary) – great ping for EU players.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or preferences. Would you play on a server like this?

I have a more than 10 years old PC, but it is more than enough for me. Baldurs Gate 3 in 4k split screen is the current that I play with my GF.

Its messy? Yes. And the LEGO part hold together this shit. I use it, i love it, and fortunately electricity is 14cent/kWh.

FX8370 4,0-4,75GHz with 1,4V

Thermaltake 120mm AIO

Asus M5A99X evo R2.0

MSI GTX 1080 8GB

1TB Samsung EVO 860

512GB Kingston something

And my favs:

4x16GB DDR3-(from 1066)->1372 Dualrank(!!)

Fusion IO drive II 1,2TB PCI-e

2200->2687MHz NB clock

But 310w from the wall under CPU stresstest, 480W with gaming

The temps are under 1h OCCT 8 core AVX test.

Max when the case was with sidepanel, current is without sidepanel.

But 310w from the wall under CPU stresstest, 480W with gaming

(CPU diode is the real cpu temp. The other one is the "socket" or something related. )

I think this is the max that AM3 can handle, and this is enough for me for some more year
