Fixable? Climate control heats instead of cooling on hot days due to dashboard indicating freezing temperatures

Sometimes in my MY20 V60, when it's hot outside, the dashboard temperature shows e.g. –5°C while it's over 25°C outside. I'm not sure what causes this to happen, but I'm not sure if it's deterministic or random. It does seem to correlate with higher outside temperatures though. The problem is that the car starts behaving differently:

  • Climate control set to e.g. 20°C will now heat the car instead of cool it.
  • Seat heating turns on automatically (my preferred setting for cold weather).

I've searched or even asked about this before, and crazy as it sounds, the following workaround sometimes works: open and close the passenger side door. You'll notice soon after the temperature indicator will slowly rise to the real temperature.

But there's another problem still: the A/C does not start cooling when the car notices it's actually e.g. 30°C. And if sunny, that's killing (could be literally). The car blows warm (not hot) air. To fix this, I've found another workaround that I'd like to share:

Turn on air recirculation and turn it off again.

IDK if it needs to stay on for a while or if it can be turned off immediately, but I've had this work twice now. Enough for me to consider this a fix. I noticed cold air blowing right away after doing this. As if the car resamples the outside air temperature and suddenly does read the real value.

Still, these are crazy workarounds for a problem that is not mine to fix. I want a proper fix. Because if climate control is affected, what other systems might behave as if it's freezing while it's actually scorching outside? Traction control? Engine heating/cooling? I don't want this to put my family's lives and my car at risk.

In a month I have regular maintenance at a dealership. What can I tell them, besides the symptoms and ceremony to work around them, to have them fix this properly? Do you have this problem too, and does something else work, or better, fix it?
