Already Ruining My Life

I literally got diagnosed just over a week ago and already IIH is ruining my life. My spinal tap is next week but I keep feeling so light headed, and I almost passed out at work (I'm a dental assistant). No patients were around, I was setting up, but now my boss has placed me on leave until the neurologist clears me to work. She says she needs a letter. I messaged my neuro about it, and I'm waiting to hear back, but I'm so frustrated. I've done this job for 6 years and I love it. My heart ia breaking that I might not be able to do it anymore. My boss insisted she isn't firing me but still.

Total Exo

Assisted on a total extraction today- 13 teeth. New record! The lowers were absolutely broken and degraded but the uppers came out easy. I'm impressed that the one molar didn't break, it's so decayed.

Does It Get Better?

Hi, i just found this subreddit. To sum up my case, I've had chronic migraines most of my teens/adult life, and about 5 years ago they got more frequent/painful. We tried management for a long time but it didnt help, and I finally got referred to neuro a month ago. My MRI apparently shows signs pointing to IIH and now I have to schedule with a neuro-ophlamologist and get a lumbar puncture to confirm.

I guess my question is: does it ever get even a little better? I'm so overwhelming tired and dizzy all the time. I constantly feel on the verge of passing out. I basically feel seasick (best analogy i have). I'm struggling to remember simple things. I'm a dental assistant and I love my job, but I'm worried I'm either going to lose it from missing work bc I'm so sick I can't drive or function, or lose it bc I can't properly do it anymore.

Does it ever get better?

Its been almost 7 years and I think I'm hitting my limit. I've faithfully been with the same doctor for 6 of those years and she drives me crazy even though I've enjoyed working with her. She makes patients (and me) wait forever, she's on her phone all day, she's always late... but she also blames US when production is down or we need more money in the practice. She decided to fully renovate last year and now is riding us hard for production. She doesn't seem to understand our demographic isn't wealthy, and that there's a recession/economic crisis rn.

I'm just feeling burnt out and done. If you've left Assisting, did you move to something else medical? The only reason I'm still doing this is the $20/hr (which isnt even the average rate of pay in my area but whatever).
