Factory big(er) brakes spare tire question

I have a 23 3 TPP with CX-9/Santafe front brakes. They are awesome for this street driver machine. Im working on CX-5 rears this weekend. The stock 3 spare won't clear the cx9 calipers. I tried my wife's cx9 17 inch spare on the 3. It fit over the caliper, but not in the trunk. Also the sidewall is way too tall to fit without risk of rubbing the inner fender.

The internet tells me that a cx5/cx9 spare will work. I know now that the cx9 spare won't work.

Has anybody else switched out their spare to a cx5 with these brake challenges?

I am inheriting land that has been in our family since it was homesteaded in the 1890's. My great grandmother willed it to her 4 daughters, one of which was my grand mother.

Long story short, with small families, the entire family lines have come down to me, my sister, and one second cousin. Between succession, TOD and such, I have a third , my sister a third, and the cousin a third.

Cousin wants to sell his share. The thing is, he doesn't own a quantity of land, he owns a minor share of the partnership that owns land.

My thinking is this: He cant sell his share to anybody but me and my sister. Nobody would put in money to be a minor shareholder in pasture land with no income potential. We rent the land to a local resident as cattle pasture.

Any thoughts as to buying out my cousin that only sees this as cash to be had? Im thinking a token amount to make him go away.
