Finally feeling more fluent with timing & direction changes 🥳

Overall I'm really stoked on all the stuff I've been able to learn since rediscovering poi last October. Super excited to keep working on the turn-side stall-CAP thing I did in this, I literally just unlocked that today 🥹

Dear God It's All Poi (Always Has Been)

This is a super long and pretty woo reflection post 😂 I was just hanging with a couple fun guys earlier and thought it would be a cool idea to start posting on Reddit so forgive me if we don't do all this here. I don't see a tag for "strange reflections." BUTTTT

I've been noticing this weird thing happening in my conceptualization for a while now. It's poi fucking infecting every part of how I process, processes, I guess. It started with riding my bike, a split same wheel plane activity, clearly. Really just a rhythmic extension and retraction of my legs OH WAIT! Okay so if I'm doing extensions, I need to carry that pivot point smoothly, all the way through every point of my pedal stroke.... Boom, suddenly I could just FEEL exactly what muscles in my legs needed to be firing at each part of the movement... I was translating what my arms knew how to do to what my legs needed to do. My efficiency got a little better over the next handful of rides. Do you see all the metaphor?

The way you start out, spinning fast because you're trying SO HARD to tell the poi where to go. Just gripping the piss out of the handles. Then you learn to spin slow and work with the poi and you finally get your control. Like, excuse me???? Hello???? It's every thing we all have to learn just... Poi shaped. Conflict resolution being a give and take, emotional regulation being more rewarding than just doing shit, learning a breaststroke.

I dunno, I just think it's really fucking cool and it's been valuable to me. Trying to apply the poi revelations to life and the life revelations to poi. Finding out if they can feed each other. I'm probably just ascribing gobs of meaning to what's in my hands these days (guilty pleasure), but I have a feeling a lot of flow folks will definitely vibe with what I'm getting at. My non-flow f&f kinda do and kinda don't but there's sadly not so many flow folks in my life currently to grill about this topic 🥲 Working on that!

Please if you resonate with what I'm saying though please please share your experiences and thoughts because that's gonna bring me as much joy as trying to articulate it in text did 💜 I'm stoked to find out if any of y'all absolute mathematicians are doing these translations in your head too.

Is anybody making any money on the delivery apps on a bicycle here?

Title. Need a little bit extra cashish for my dry spells with my other work, and I don't drive. But I did bike delivery at Jimmy John's for a little while working frat row and in heavy traffic, I'm getting there in half the time Johnny Corolla does. Still, the location and off-peak hours skeleton crew mileage expectations made my earnings a LOT lower than I felt my potential was.

So to hone my question, has anybody discovered a location and time of day when you can go active on UE/DD on bike, and get enough short distance orders to make a profit after accounting for popped tubes and snacks? JJ I was riding so much straight line in-between deliveries that I was eating pretty much all the money I made, so I need a busy, dense urban market. Downtown? Short north? Or maybe doing food on bike is just not logical here at all.

I'd be happy to deliver random other shit too but never tapped into that. Not looking for a commitment right now really LOL I legitimately prefer working for apps more lately 🤷

Don't devolve this thread into bikes in the street discussion please, it's beyond played out and anybody with any meaningful opinion on that has already made up their mind. And no, e-bike is not an option!
