Hey just came here to let everyone know, a large number of teaching staff at Hosmer elementary were fired this morning due to poor budgeting.
There was already a (literally illegally) low number of staff. So prepare accordingly ~
The knockoff mio infusion sets have gotten so cheap at this point I actually dread showering... Ive not had a single shower in the last few weeks whereafter my pump site hasnt just seemingly stopped working and I progressively inch toward gross high blood sugar feelings and DKA... Ive started even trying to cover it in the shower but like... idk it just honestly feels so defeating and pointless to use this device when its become so unreliable so consistently... Sometimes thesite itself just leaks from the center, sometimes it just spills along the sides of the adhesive, like idk what this is thing made out of... like salt or something??
And before you suggest the truesteel I can't use them; they bruise me...
Like between this BS and the tubing becoming so thin that my wasteband has been causing occlusion alarms it's really getting hard not to switch back to syringes... at least I dont wake up feeling like shit constantly because I rolled over on my pump the wrong way ... all so some CEO can save less than a cent worth of plastic per batch of these things....
It's also had like 12 recall notices now? Ya know... without the recall part... so this thing could also just stop working at any moment... they know it could.. and their advice is to wait for it to break and then PAY for a new one from them... lmfao....
I legit dont know what to do.... Ive had pumps for over 20 years and NONE not even the oldest ones were this bad. Not even close. It feels like it was never put in the hands of a real diabetic in testing, its just so insane to me how much worse it is than models from years past.... and for what? A barely working touch screen? Like 2mm off the width? Actual lunacy imho.
