I have a Scrambler 400 X purchased new from a Triumph dealer here in New Zealand.
In the 11 weeks and 2400km I’ve had the bike the following issues have presented:
- Warped front brake rotor
- Loud buzzing sound around 4000 RPM in all gears, appears to be rear spring vibrating against shock housing (see this thread for a description and recording which matches my experience https://www.triumph400forum.com/threads/vibrating-rear-shock-noise.75/?nested_view=1#replies )
- Oil leak at the front of the engine
- Unverified rattling noise at speeds over 60km/h, and engine under load. Sounds like chain noise but doesn’t seem to have changed with clean and lube
- Weak starting, usually when cold but sometimes also when hot
As of now, none of these issues uhave been resolved but the rotor has been confirmed and ordered, and the dealer was unable to replicate the buzzing noise during the first service and blamed on the tool kit under seat.
I have been quite patient but am starting to feel like it’s a lemon and needs to be taken back.
Do we think this number and types of issues are typical? What would you do in this situation?
