1/10 Armageddon intercessors done, the rest I only have to highlight up the black
Tried some new grass tufts from gamers grass and so impressed with their ‘tiny’ tufts, I feel the fit the scale really well for 32mm bases
See you all in a couple days for full squad probably!
Being more careful and intentional with weathering, same paints, just taking more time
Feel like I’m getting closer to what I want with every new unit
Love the process of blacking out areas, it ramps up the contrast and makes the red even brighter
Big fan of the intercessors in this box, excited to see what, if any new multipart comes out
Actually blasting through 11th edition box, might try intercessors next!

Lowkey feel I went too hard on weathering but I know where to improve next time, essentially I need to be a bit more careful with my rhinox hide chipping, will take more care with next stuff I think

Green OSL was a first for me so didn’t track recipe, more just failed three times till I got there
Tried a green plasma this time, took three botched attempts but think it’s feeling better now.
Should have highlighted up the Handle of the axe (which will just play as a power sword), will sort later 😅

Base colours used on end slide, chronological order. all dry brushing apart from washes which are thinned and washed all over
9th edition codex art inspired me, was tempted to try green but something so nostalgic about the glowing blue coils

I have a really nice idea that involves learning how to paint orcs for a final touch
In a recent interview from Go Radio, the original concept art for Hot doughnut was shown briefly.
It’s somehow even better, but less resembling a doughnut I would say so understand why they went with the choice they did.

Gunna figure out base next week, some minor things I want to fix but I’m happy!
Pretty much finished, gunna gonna and think about a base for a bit, I want to maybe try some OSL on jets at back, I’ll see later
Weathering is now completed
I chose to do weathering BEFORE the matte varnish and it works amazingly well. Will continue to do this
On the home stretch now!
Purple base coat
White highlight
Thinned red film over top with patience
Less reactivation after a gloss varnish than the pyrole red from liquitex, still a SLIGHT issue but will just let the varnish cure for longer, might try Vallejo polyurethane gloss next

Told myself I won’t be cracking open 11th till my pile of shame is reduced. Time for Armageddon 😆
