I have a tooth abscess. My NHS dentist is only offering me private emergency appointments, do I have a right to an NHS emergency appointment?

I went into the dentist today to see if I could get an appointment and they said sorry they only have private appointments available later today and that I could try calling at 9am tomorrow but it would be very unlikely I would get an NHS slot and that I would likely have to wait 4 weeks for an NHS appointment. They tried to put pressure on me to pay £95 for a private appointment this afternoon.

I'm struggling to find a definitive list of my rights as an NHS patient online results are telling me if the dentistry is clinically necessary then they are required to offer me an NHS appointment if they are also offering private ones. However, other results say only if they have NHS capacity.

I'm going in just before 9am tomorrow and could use some advice incase they fob me off again. Thanks

For context, I saw the hygienist the week before last. The appointment was incredibly rushed and the mirror/tools they first put in my mouth at the very start of the appointment had polishing compound on them, possibly from the last patient? They also slipped a couple of times jamming the drill into my gum.

I've never had such a tough time with my gums after an appointment, different areas have been sore and inflamed much longer than normal. Unfortunately one of these areas has now swollen significantly into an abscess.

I'd really appreciate some guidance on this as will be going in first thing tomorrow morning to try and secure an NHS appointment and would like to know my rights and how I can escalate things if they are breaking the rules. They frequently try to bill me as a private patient for dental check ups and work and claim they have errors with their systems. Sadly they are the only NHS dentist near me for miles.

Decarbonising small events recommendations

I'm wanting to decarbonise and lessen the environmental impact of our industry, very much inspired by Massive Attack's Act 1.5

I'm also from the same city, Bristol UK, and I am lucky to be based in the centre as well as having easy access to another city Bath via very good cycle infrastructure on an old railway path.

I would like to start running more stuff off battery charged by renewables than diesel generators, as well as also delivering equipment via electric cargo bike and electric van.

I'm putting together a small system that all fits into an urban arrow cargo XL cargo bike for which I am custom building a front box. I have two QSC KS112s, two QSC CB10s, (the possibility of two more CB10s if needed for monitors or delays), an aferiy p310 battery, an XR18 mixer and a tablet, 4 sennheiser ew-d's, and a solar panel to top up the battery which is charged from a renewables only supplier.

I'm able to spec out larger systems to be delivered by electric van and run off larger hired batteries, or use venue power whose use I will offset by investing in local rewilding projects similar to what Ecotricity are now doing instead of carbon credits.

Space and weight is somewhat limited in the cargo bike setup, however, I reckon I can do about 80% of the booking enquiries I get with such a system. Plus the corporate social responsibility of a fully renewables powered setup will hopefully get me on some approved contractor lists with local universities and council etc.

I'm keen for your recommendations on what would be in your must have gear list for such a compact setup? As well as recommendations for decent light weight boom mic stands and a must have small selection of mics? Also just any advice generally or anyone else who has tried to make a paired down setup. Many thanks in advance 🙏

Currently for the bike setup I have:

Bunch of xlrs and power extensions,

Spl meter,

Pink noise sound bullet,

Speaker stands,

3 dual channel active di boxes,

Laptop for recording and streaming,

Spare batteries, tape, Sharpie, velcro cable ties,

Needed: 4 mic stands, selection of mics likely 57s 58s and some small diaphragm condensers, a wireless system for delays maybe ewdp's?

▲ 7 r/bees

We have some cracked weep vents at the bottom of the external render of our home which lead all the way through to the cavity in our walls. Recently I have noticed a bee/bees coming in and out. I have sat for a while and I think only noticed one bee, never two bees coming or going.

I want to rule out that this could be honey bees which would cause an issue in the wall cavity. I like to help bees out by planting pollinator plants and creating bug hotels, hence I'd really like this bee to stay. However, I thought I would check here as to any issues and what type of bee it could be?

A neighbour has an endoscopic camera I could borrow however I would not want to disturb the nest. Many thanks in advance.
