I low key hate daycare pickup right now

I'm on maternity leave with my 10w old daughter and 3x a week I do daycare pickup for my 2y9mo son . Dad works full time and does all the other pickups and drop off. I love my son and spending time with him, he's at the cutest age saying the craziest stuff. But daycare pickup time is like the absolute shittiest time for infants to like .. Exist. I pick up between 430 and 5pm, and 9/10 times she is just screaming the entire time. She doesn't love the car seat yet, so the 20m drive to pickup doesn't put her to sleep, so it's like 45-50 minutes of her having no time to settle down, and I can't catch up with his teachers because I have her to manage. Today I swear she damaged my hearing permanently. I drive with one arm ratcheted into the back seat trying to help her with her pacifier and stroke her cheek which is obviously super safe

He also just transitioned into the preschool room and that's been it's own whole issue (he's doing great but the teachers just like ... Stopped putting updates in the app and he's mid potty training so I'm in the dark about how he's doing. I've asked 4x now for them to keep doing updates like they did before in toddlers and they keep saying they will but don't).

Anyway. I know this will be very short lived and my daughter won't always be a little hellion at this time of day but for now 🫩🫠 a glass of wine please. Anyone else in this boat?

(My son just ran into the room and whispered good night I love you so he doesn't wake his sister so not all is lost 🥰)

Roommate territory

Hi all

We have a 10wk old baby girl and a 2.9 yo boy. I'm home on maternity leave, Dad is working full time. He's an amazing partner, does the lions share with the toddler and does house work every day. The baby is a bit of a unicorn. She's sleeping through the night (insane I know), usually takes great naps, eating well etc.

This is a little bit ..duh I guess given our current parenting situation but I have been feeling like kind of the least important thing in his life recently. I honestly don't believe there's a minute of the day where he thinks about how I'm doing or occurs to him that we haven't spent much time together. I had some medical tests recently, he hasn't asked about the results. He doesn't say hi to me when he gets home (the toddler is all consuming, I get it.. Kind of). After bedtime he spends time cleaning the kitchen/getting ready for the next day. We don't really talk much outside of a few text messages through out the day and a little bit over dinner (what passes as talking with a toddler at the table). He feels like an excellent roommate. He's a good person who I love deeply and I can't imagine my life without him, I'm just feeling neglected.

I talked about it with him last night (he is a very smart person but when it comes to stuff like this he is such a typical man and had very little to contribute to the conversation) and thinking about it Im sure I'm also part of the "problem" (my thoughts not his words). I don't have a lot of conversation to initiate, I always ask him how his day was but we just don't seem to have a lot to talk about.

I'm just bummed out right now I guess and feeling isolated with the newborn. I'm sure this is just a phase but it's grinding on me. Have any of you come out the other side of a period like this and if so do you have any tips on what pulled you out?

3 week old rolling to stomach

Hi all

Been a long time since I've posted. And fwiw I have reached out to my pediatrician about this but haven't heard back yet.

My second child is 3 weeks old yesterday. She was born full term/healthy/sleeps fantastic/up to her birth weight last week/breastfeeding going well. She's sleeping in a cradlewise mini crib. Not sure if any of that context matters

We swaddle her for naps and at night. We always put her down flat on her back. She sometimes stays on her back, sometimes "rolls" to the newborn curl and sleeps on her side. All fine. Well three days in a row I have found her rolled onto her stomach. The first time I swore it must just be a fluke and it wouldn't happen again, she was crying and I went up right away to move her. Then last night and again just now I found her sleeping peacefully.. On her stomach.

I know the advice for older babies is that once they start rolling, you can leave them in that position but you need to stop swaddling. For a 3 week old who couldn't possibly use her arms to move herself swaddle or no swaddle ..I just do not know what to do. I didn't even think it was possible at this age to roll onto her stomach

Has anyone experienced this and if so what did you do? M prepared to stop swaddling if we need to I just don't even know if they sell sleep sacks or other things at the appropriate size for this age. She's 8.5lbs.
