Hey all, I was super excited and bought this ranger for $6500 with only 67k miles. However, the issue that I thought was a faulty sensor, ended up being that the guy who had it before me (his wife sold it after he passed) put the wrong one in? I assume it had an issue in the past and he found a transmission at a junk yard off an earlier ranger that was missing the tss and oss sensors. Anyways, since I didn’t want to go to a junkyard, grab a used transmission that had over 140k miles on it, and put it on my truck that has only 67k miles.. I opted to buy a remanufactured transmission for ~2600 w/ a 3 yr warranty, and found an independent mechanic that will charge 750 to replace it. Transmission has arrived and I’m replacing it next week. I’m feeling pretty shitty about my purchase since now I’m in almost $10k. Was it the right move to buy a remanufactured one?
