I need help
I graduated from IIT in 2024, but to be honest, I didn't really study during college.
After graduating, I started teaching — and somehow ended up earning ₹22–25 lakh a year doing it. On paper, that sounds like a good place to be. In reality, I feel stuck.
Teaching isn't where I want to build my future. I want to move into the software industry, ideally into AI/ML. The pull is real, but so is the gap — I'm essentially starting over in a field I didn't seriously prepare for in college, while leaving behind an income that took time to build.
I'm writing this partly to be honest with myself, and partly because I know I'm not the only one in this spot. If you've made a similar pivot — from a comfortable career into tech, especially AI/ML — I'd genuinely value hearing how you did it.
