Youtube Thumbnail for a chiptune music cover. What do you think ?

Hi!

I am composer and I make chiptune music. I made a humble youtube thumbnail cover.

Does it tell from the start that it is about chiptune music ?

If not, what do I need to add/change in your expert opinion ?

[newbie] How to write letters in pixel art ?

Hi

I am new with pixel art. I use libresprite. My goal is not to be come a pro pixel artist but just to do enough for the needs of my project.

One of the first thing I would like to learn is to write letters and it shows that it is in pixel art.
Question is how do I do that ? What make a letter pixelized ?

Are players turn-based and jrpg game looking for new games ?

ERRATUM of the title: **Are players looking for new turn-based and jrpg games ?**

I am thinking of games as FF tactics but maybe with a modern twist. Or any turn-based rpg games, with colorful art.

Is it a popular and a genre in-demand ?

(I know some will say do what you like, this is just a discussion to get informed about what's going on in that genre)

Do you need authentic 8bit/16bit music ?

Hey!

I am a composer who can make authentic 8bit/16bit music (NES, SNES, Amiga, etc.) that sound directly nostalgic by its sound itself.

If you were looking for a "free starter music asset pack" for your starting game project, what kind of music would you need ? And how long ? What type of game are you working on ? What kind of emotions elevate your project ?

I am trying to see if there is a need for music pack for this "specific sound"

I learned to make my first soundtrack cover in furnace tracker

Happy to share this here! It's just a cover for now as I am learning to make chiptune!

I have been learning how furnace tracker work recently. It is really different from NES vsti and Magical 8bit for 8-bit/16-bit era.

The sound is really good and brings you back memories from the start! I had struggle to find the origin of this demo.

I have done research and I couldn't find the answer so I asked ChatGPT: "This is a track “1990s” from SidMon II / The Deluxe Menu Player is not from a commercial game soundtrack.

It was an original Amiga demoscene module created for the SidMon II music environment and circulated in the early 1990s demo/mod scene." Also, some extra details that ChatGPT told me SidMon II was a tracker/music driver system used heavily in Amiga demos and music disks. The Deluxe Menu Player itself was more like a showcase/player frontend than a game soundtrack.

The tune “1990s” has that classic late-Amiga hybrid style: sampled rave/house drums, synth basslines, orchestral stabs, and “tracker-era” sequencing tricks. Arrangement: Tildearrow I do not own this soundtrack. This was for a learning purpose only. All rights to this soundtrack belongs to the respective owner and copyright holder.
