I got driven to Utah by transporters who came to my house at about 2am in the morning. My parents came into my room and said that I needed to go away, and then left the house and went for a car ride while 3 members of a transport team put me into holds and forced me into a van that took me to a center that stole 14 months of my life.
I hate the way I got taken there.
On my last day in 2021 they woke me up at 5am, blindfolded me, walked me around the New Haven campus to disorient me and had me get into a car. I was told I was only with one other staff member when I asked but it turns out there was 2 or 3 other staff members in the backseat. I got asked personal question by the staff who blindfolded me and didn’t know I was answering them in front of people.
Then I got taken to a park, and got led around by a staff member while still blindfolded. They then asked me to lay down on the ground. I had no idea where we were. Then they introduced my therapist and said she was there too. They tarted placing “items” around me, and they then asked me to feel around and guess what the items I was surrounded by were (it was trash, like actual trash). I guess trash though and I was right.
Then, they began to ask me questions like “how did you feel about it your mom/dad/sister/stepmom before New Haven” and “how do you feel about your mom/dad/stepmom/sister now?” I asked the staff if my family was here watching me at least twice and they told me no. They said it was just us.
My dad, mom, stepmom, and 6 year old sister were watching the whole thing.
At the end of them asking me question they said that my parents would’ve probably found me dead in a park laying the way I was now and that everyone was so lucky I came to New Haven and completed the program. Then they let me take off my blindfold to 7-8 people standing around me.
Then they gave me flowers and forced me to take a family photo.
Did anyone else have an experience similar to this?????????
I wanted to share this because I just found a brand new article about New Haven THEY ARE TEMPORARILY PROHIBITED FROM ADMITTING NEW CLIENTS THIS IS SUCH A WIN. But the fact they are even open is such a fucking disappointment and let down. https://l.instagram.com/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.fox13now.com%2Fnews%2Flocal-news%2Futah-county%2Fsaratoga-springs-teen-treatment-facility-faces-license-restrictions-after-client-self-harms&e=AUAkZ9Tp\_OjZqrln\_eDsogE6VFJtP6iyuPFPSp6Ga36dUUM1leXYcUrk4Vfr1u9eAcGtcD1ZI6HOYHwmoQKZgsOSWM8Q5TIS3AHIp5-iZL01dE308Rd-Fymj\_Jo\_vGZfi5ll-opvU8ZMrUX8PQ
I wish something could be done to shut them down forever.
I’m having a rough time and really need some lighthearted show suggestions!! Examples of shows I enjoy: new girl, community, broad city, friends, workaholics, arrested development, happy endings, the office, modern family, and it’s always sunny in Philadelphia.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
