Should I switch from IT sales/marketing to adventure tourism at 23?
I’m 23, from outside Kathmandu Valley, and recently completed my BBA. I’m currently working as a Junior Sales & Marketing Officer in an IT company. This is my first job, and I’ve been working here for about 3 months.
After these 3 months, I’ve realized that IT sales/marketing probably isn’t the right long-term career for me. I don’t enjoy the work much, and it has made me think seriously about what I actually want to do in the future.I’ve been interested in traveling since I was around 19, and trekking is something I genuinely love. I’ve done several high-altitude treks in Nepal and have always been interested in mountains, adventure, and exploring new places.
So I’m seriously considering switching to travel and tourism, especially adventure tourism, trekking, and expedition-related work.
I’m also studying LLB on the side because I’m interested in politics and law.
My main question is: Am I making a sensible career decision, or am I just romanticizing something I enjoy as a hobby?
