I’m interested in psychoanalytic theories that deal with the relationship between love and narcissism in a systematic way. Kohut obviously comes to mind, but I’m wondering which other psychoanalysts have developed a substantial theory around these concepts. I’d especially appreciate recommendations that go beyond just discussing narcissism as a clinical diagnosis and instead explore the dynamics of love, object relations, self-love, and the relationship between the self and the other.

Anyone know if there are any stores in beirut or tripoli dedicated to arabic calligraphy supplies? looking for qalams, maktas, inks etc... i am not finding any luck in typical stationary shops. Any help is appreciated. thanks!

this genre as been fascinating me for a while. although the lyrics immensely bother me, i find the production very innovative and creative. I've been wondering about a few things, so id like to make clear some things up

1. Online, Brazilian funk is divided into numerous sub genres like funk 150 bpm, beat bruxaria, automotivo etc... Are these considered genres in brazil?

2. Are there any efforts by authorities to restrict this type of music?

3. Is there any specific reason for Belo Horizente to develop it's specific sound? Other than the mcs just experimenting?

4. What's the general sentiment towards the lyrical themes present in these songs?

5. many online spaces consider funk "experimental". Do Brazilians view it similarly?

6. How often does funk incorporate politically conscious lyrics? How does that compare to how politically it presents itself?

(this question mostly stems from my disappointment in DJ K's RADIO LIBERTORA!, where most of the lyrics ended up being your typical crude filler)

7. how do you feel about funk's popularity overseas?

(this stems from my reaction to it being played in these pretentious rich white people clubs lol)

for context, i mostly spend my summers in the mountains.

I want something that sounds lonely, bright, warm, bittersweet, noisy maybe, not so depressing, not too dance-oriented and upbeat, maybe on the slower side, really really atmospheric, can lean into ambient. bonus points if it has "ethnic" elements (for lack of a better term).

just like imagine sitting on your window alone as the sun sets painting the lush mountains a deep orange as you get consumed by the same warmth of something like rhubarb like afx. maybe ill add pics if itll help!

the only album ive really gravitated towards these past summers is census designated by jane remover. looking for something similar. thanks!
