Grad students, which area do you guys live or wish you lived?
Moving this fall for grad school and wondering if i should find a place closer to campus or live in downtown and bike/bus to campus and enjoy the city.

Just getting into reading. Picked up Flowers for Algernon and really liked that it was a good story but also had more to it. Made me think about things differently.
Looking for more books like that. Doesn’t have to be the same genre, just something that’s actually enjoyable to read but leaves you with a new perspective. Very new to reading, something lgbt would be cool but not necessary at alll
Super excited to be moving to durham for grad school this fall and wanted to ask you all for anything you discovered while loving here that has become a must in your life. Could be from best place to buy fruit to favorite bars to best hikes. ANYTHING goes…😝🫶
Hey all! been doing my research on West Village and keep running into some pretty rough reviews: noise insulation issues, cockroach problems, leaks, and complaints about management. Not exactly reassuring.
That said, a lot of those reviews seem to be about the older building. I’m looking at the newer Moore building(built around 2015), and I’d assume things like soundproofing and general maintenance would be significantly better.
For anyone who lives there or has recently: do those issues still apply to the newer building, or is it a noticeably different experience? Would really appreciate any honest takes before I sign anything. Thanks!
