How do you personally spot real problems?

Is it mostly:

- your own experience?

- reading complaints online?

- talking to users?

Curious how people approach this without just guessing.

Is there an app you wish existed but can’t find? Or one you already use but it just doesn’t feel right - what’s wrong with it? Curious what people think is missing.
