She finally is starting to whisper ‘I love you’ it took a while

Like the title says, I found it in Guam in the late 90’s and have held on to it. Im guessing it’s possibly from ww2 but there has been a us military presence there ever since so possibly not as well. Just looking to learn more about it. I also have a sheath that I believe we bought at a flea market, I was young and don’t remember all the details but they fit nicely and have been together as well but I don’t think the sheath was made for the knife.

Found in [Puerto Rico], lighter for scale. Seems a little large for a bug so asking here. Maybe a frog or small rodent?

I think I already know the answer but wanted to double check. Do I chop one to save the other? For context, I’m not sure what type of tree it is, I’ve included several pictures. It is in Puerto Rico.
