if this is you just know youre appreciated.
one of my classmates does this, ill be like "hmm i wonder when we're getting our sacs back" bc im too nervous to talk in front of the class and the absolute queen goes "yeah wait [teachers name] when are we getting the sacs back?" and everyone gets and answer and its just so helpful to all the confident people thank you so much
idk man happened to me a few times its just very awkward im not a fan of it
im second guessing my topic choice so hard rnnn its either too cliche or too niche and youd be surprised at how ive managed to make both mistakes at once
i would LOVE to just lie down and drain society's resources, fuck getting an atar, fuck going to uni, fuck all my life plans, put me in a medically induced coma until i die of natural causes
title. Through some events (personal) i have temporarily lost access to literally every workbook i own, for all of my subjects. I always do exercises in those books (handwriting works a lot better for me) and now what do i do. They have all my notes in them.
Theres not that much longer left in these holidays and i really need every second of study time i can get, so how do i minimise the impact of this?
ive successfully dragged my friend along to the concert in my city, and im trying to make a playlist of songs that theyre likely to play. So far this is the list, but im not sure how likely they actually are, and i cant think of any others that they're likely to do. So yeah, what else should i add?
for the past few years ive coasted along on sheer passion for maths and physics, id forgo studying tons for thinking through problems as i lie awake in bed, gaining a deeper understanding of the fundamental concepts in the process.
By the end of last year, that was fading. By the start of this year, i was holding on to the last dregs of it. And now i literally do not give a flying fuck about chem or spesh. Im rank 1 in both, and i have no interest in either. So im fucked, basically, because if i dont have interest in a topic i wont think about it and i wont do it. Trying to force myself to do it leads to sitting in front of an open book for ages, unless im externally forced to do something. It takes SO MUCH mental energy, i picture myself moving my hand to pick up my pen to start writing, but my arms dont move, unless i do the mental equivalent of a runup to a jump, but unless i summon myself just right, i wont get over the wall. Its like doing that one thing at Bounce when youre unathletic. You do the runup, jump on the trampoline, but you mess it up slightly and you either get your shoulders over and then fall back down if youre lucky, or jump face-first into the slab of wood if youre not. So you go back to your mark, do it again and again until you finally get on top of the wall. But theres so many walls because theres so many tasks, and you dont get that nice jetpack that is being interested in the topic.
So basically im getting fucked in the ass up against the wall face first by vcaa. I cannot go straight to uni after this year istg theres no way i can study science in this state.
>!i got consent to post this dw also sorry for the garbage editing!<
this is a rant about how vce takes over your life.
It cannot be reasonable to subject 17/18 year olds to this level of stress. To the point where you feel vaguely like youre on the verge of discovering something about yourself- yk, something kinda important at this stage in development- but you just gotta push it down, bottle it up, because theres a sac next week and you need to work on that.
Think you might have some gender/sexuality funkiness going on that you want to explore? Nah, forget about it, you need to write that practice essay. If anyone asks, youre straight. Wait till the holidays, then sort it out.
Do you suspect undiagnosed adhd? Autism? Wrist hurts vaguely often? But it feels normal and youre clearly working just fine right? And going to the doctor to get an assessment is too expensive and anyway, youre in year 12. You dont have time.
Something awful happened in your personal life? Suck it, practice exam. SEAS isnt gonna save you, you still need to do your best.
At a certain point, VCE isnt a test of how smart you are, how well you can study. Its a test of how well you can compartmentalise, shove all your personal thoughts under the bed. And can you hold yourself together enough to function as a person once its all over.
now the question is floor or seated? Im kinda short, so im wondering how much the visual experience impacts the show? And im new to concerts, so; is it acceptable to ask to scooch in front of tall people if you are on the floor?
my sleep schedule is actually pretty good, i go to bed at ~11pm each night, never really drank coffee or any type of caffeine before, but for the past few months ive been super tired and unfocused, to the point where i couldnt focus long enough to do more than one maths question at a time, let alone a full textbook chapter or essay.
So last week, i decided to splurge the $3 on a red bull and omgggg GUYS I FORGOT WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE ABLE TO ACTUALLY FOCUS, HOLY SHIT I WAS FLYINGGGG THROUGH THOSE QUESTIONS
Did i accidentally take meth instead of caffeine? Bc theres no WAY this shit is that powerful
Normally my brain feels like ive got 2 dvd logos and im waiting for them to simultaneously hit the corner to be able to get the ideas together long enough to do a task. Its like cold fusion by quantum tunnelling being the only spark in a dying universe. With caffeine, its like the concentration of dvd logos increases, which increases the frequency of collisions, which increases the frequency of successful collisions, increasing the rate of reaction in my brain SO THEY HIT THE CORNER MORE OFTEN AND I CAN DO STUFF AND THE UNIVERSE IS ALIVEEEE IN THE GREAT ERA OF STAR FORMATION AND OTHER BEAUTIFUL THINGS
im just complaining, im not planning on meeting up with anyone from online, just agonise with me please.
Im a young woman so im not planning on going into a big city at night alone, but none of my irl friends are shinedown fans, and the only one who tolerates my music taste is, and i quote "too autistic for concerts" (ie theyre too loud and sensory issues) and im just dying bc you cant buy tickets forever but i really want to gooooo
also tickets are expensive and im broke af.
metonomy: referring to something by addressing a part of the whole, like saying "nice wheels" when someone gets a new car.
a while ago my friend and i did an autism test, and i was crashing out at some of the questions (they are very poorly worded and vague), and one of the questions asks if youre detail oriented or you focus on the big picture. We discovered that the autistic answer is "detail oriented", and my friend said that my crashouts over the question wording was an example of it.
More recently, they have been labelling some of my behaviour as "detail oriented". Is this metonomy? Are they implying that i actually am autistic? This is a point of contention for me, because many people have said that in the past, but it was often based on unscientific criteria (i have certain interests and social awkwardness), so i ignored it. AITA?
Title. I take japanese at school, so i have some language skills. Ive also been once before, so im not particularly interested in going to all the super touristy attractions. My plan was just to go to different areas each day and explore a little, but id also like some more structure so im not wasting my time there. For context, I'll be there for about 2 weeks in jan-feb next year, probably staying in some hostel.
Any other tips are welcome; how much money i should set aside for it, things to watch out for/be cautious of, etc.
was talking about my hobbies and future plans with a friend and my brain kept switching to how i would say it. win for studying ig?
im probably gonna rest for a bit, but then i want to go on an overseas trip somewhere. Or if i dont do that, ill probably get a retail job for a bit, get some cash in the bank, and do fun stuff within the country. And decide whether or not to take a gap year
obv im in this sub. Im born a girl, for a while i thought i was some kind of non-binary bc i didnt feel like female terms like "mrs", "woman", "mum" or anything like that could ever apply to me. And idk if im gonna be a trans man or if i just wanna be a more masc woman, and honestly im a little confused. I play sports and i really like the womens team that im on, i feel like part of a community there and its awesome, and i dont think i experience any dysphoria from being female, but id just love to have some more masculine features. Im not a fan of my curves, minimising them has been a part of me wanting to lose weight, and i want a strong upper body, i like wearing more masculine clothes, but i like being female socially.
Also my friends managed to stumble upon a masculine nickname for me, completely unprompted and i lowkey like it? Almost more than my actual name? (unfortunately it is almost the exact same as my brothers name lolololollll)
Im thinking of just buying some guys clothes, maybe trying a binder or something, just to try, nothing permanent but idk what to do beyond that.
a few months ago i checked the website, all the good stuff was out of stock and the stuff that was left was meh.
Now theres actually so many awesome looking hoodies but theyre all like $75 AND THATS USD I WANT ONE SO BAD BUT IM JUST A BROKE STUDENT BEING FUCKED BY CURRENCY EXCHANGESSSSS
