It’s finally here

After the whole registration process took another two weeks, we were finally able to collect the 6 N on Monday.

Our first long drive was to a fitting destination.

So far, the 6 N has exceeded all my expectations. What Hyundai has managed to achieve with this 2.2-tonne car is really impressive. Overall, it definitely reminds me of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio we used to have.

Our 6 N has finally arrived at the dealer!

After several delays, our 6 N has finally arrived at the dealership. As luck would have it, the last free parking space was right next to it, so here’s the first photo of it alongside its predecessor.

If all goes well, we’ll be able to collect it this week, and then our first drive will take us straight to the Nürburgring.

If you get the chance, book the N Taxi on the Nürburgring Nordschleife

In 2025, we stumbled across the N Ringtaxi rather by chance – mainly because of the relatively low price. At the time, there was the Ioniq 5 N and the i30 N. After the lap, I was so impressed by the 5 N that I followed the development of the 6 N closely and ordered one (hopefully it’ll arrive next week or the week after).

A few weeks ago, I happened to see that the i30 N has now been replaced by the 6 N. We went for a spin in it today and it’s incredible what the car can do with three passengers on board and in standard specification.

Anyone who has the chance should definitely go for a ride in it.

MX-5 ND and Miata NA from Germany

Before our ND turns ten this year, it got a new friend last year: an original Miata from Canada, fitted with a turbo kit.

It does need a bit of love, though, and will soon be getting a pair of Recaro Pole Position seats, just like the ND.

The wait for the 6N in Germany has begun!

Hello from Germany!

I ordered an Ioniq 6N on 2 May. Apparently, it was the first one at the dealership. The delivery time is supposed to be four to six months, but the salesman reckons it will be shorter.

The 6N will be my third electric car. From 2018 to 2020, my wife and I had a BMW i3, and we currently drive an Abarth 500e as our everyday car. We also have a Mazda MX-5 ND (2016), a Mazda Miata (1992) and an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster (2008).

Why the 6N?

At the start of the year, we sold our Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, and even with just the two of us, you do occasionally need more than two seats.

Last year, we rode in the 5N Ring Taxi on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and after that I simply found the car interesting. A little later, we were in Goodwood anyway and got to see the 6N in the flesh for the first time.

A few months ago, I test-drove the 5N and was thoroughly impressed. And if you don’t want a boring everyday car, there aren’t many alternatives.
