Invisible Man Costume (Update #2)

Today was a very productive one. I bought a blazer with a matching lapel (see pictures 1 and 3) and took it apart as a template for my robe. It fit well, so I figured it’d be a good idea. I had a SECOND good idea, which was to remove the jacket lining, and use it for my robe instead of making my own lining since my sleeves use the same pattern of the sleeves in which lining came from in the first place, if that makes sense. Anyway, I successfully Dr. Frankensteined the blazer, removing an exterior torso half, a sleeve exterior, a sleeve lining, the torso and remaining sleeve lining, and the lapel/collar, all still in one piece. I got to sewing too, as I also bought matching thread and a seam-ripper for the project earlier today. With the pieces of the blazer I oh-so-carefully removed, I traced the sleeves onto the velvet, and cut out two identical pieces. I started sewing, but things quickly backfired, and I lost my streak when the machine just decided not to thread my… well- thread, so the needle was just moving up and down for no reason. Eventually, I got that fixed. Then, I successfully hemmed the end of ONE sleeve, and was going to reverse the stitching, and it jammed, and it jammed BAD. Like, I had to take apart the sewing machine just to see here the issue was. Unfortunately, the issue is a BITCH, so I just got up and left it there to be tomorrow’s problem. On another bright side, I’m gonna order my gloves and ascot for the costume now!

Invisible Man Costume (Update #1)

I ordered burgundy velvet for the robe, as I plan to model it after the pictures above. For anyone interested in the specific velvet I bought, it’s linked below. But yeah, it has arrived and been thoroughly washed. I hope to find a blazer tomorrow with a similar fit and lapel so I can scrap it for parts and use it as a template.

Invisible Man Halloween Costume

I wanted to go as the Invisible Man in his smoking jacket from the 1933 film, but apparently Spirit either doesn’t have it at any location near me, or the costume was discontinued. Since this costume is way too good to pass up so easily, however, I’m gonna make it myself!

-Creature From The Black Lagoon (1954)
-Revenge Of The Creature (1955)
-Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (1955)
-The Creature Walks Among Us (1956)

I’m gonna do four per page so I’ll have 8 full pages, four posters per, and right now I’m just figuring out where I want the monsters in the frame, and what I want them to be doing. So for now, it’ll just be drawings of the monsters themselves, and the background. The shadows, color and titles all come later.

Here are the ones I’ve made so far:

Imagine each Universal Monster got its own LEGO set. How would you create these sets?

FYI, I only meant to include Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy/Ardath Bey, The Invisible Man, The Bride Of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, and the Creature From the Black Lagoon, but feel free to include others! This is as if YOU were in charge of the whole project!
