I need ideas for my dog’s Halloween costume!

This is not the typical post, I know but I’m trying to decide what to dress my dog up as for Halloween. She’s been a flamingo, off brand Wonder Woman and a hot dog (unfortunately couldn’t find any pictures of that)

I sew and crochet so no need to rely on store bought costumes. She’s just a teensy baby (10 pounds) so nothing overwhelming detailed and while she loves wearing clothes (dress, sweaters, shirts, jackets, etc) She is not a fan of headwear or footwear and will make her displeasure known.
She’s also part dachshund which opens up a whole other avenue of possibilities.

I’m also totally up for a matching costume set if anyone has ideas for that.

(The picture of her in a sweater doesn’t actually have anything to do with Halloween but it’s one of my favourite pictures of her so I threw it in there too)

How do I make this look better and scarier?

This was a rough thing that I did last year, but Im actually going to a party this year so I want to do something similar to it this year. I gave up with the white base and I put some fake blood on my face, decided I didn't want to do a fake cut but I couldn't get the blood off so it stayed, my eyebrows are uneven, and one of the black things around my eye began looking like a leaf that is not very good so I tried to fix it and it turned out a little funky. Besides this, what else can I improve. I want it to look scary, so what advice do you have? Any products that you would recommend?

Should I be Persephone or Harley Quinn for Halloween?

Excuse the dirty mirror I was at a friends house. Soo the dollar general has Halloween decorations out and I’m in a spooky mood.

I’m torn between two ideas. Either Persephone or Harley Quinn (the Batman animated series one)

Help me pick my Halloween costume

I’ve been thinking about this since early August and I’ve narrowed it down to the final four: the Monty Python rabbit, Alice in Wonderland, Dr. House, and Aunt Gylads. My main goal is to not use any Amazon or pre constructed costumes in the process, focusing on thrifting, diy, and the occasionally spirit accessory. I also kinda wanna put my own spin on it, explaning the more fem presenting clothing.

I BEG you to help me, it's for my kid

So my daughter is 3 and she is OBSESSED with Barney (the old live action show, not the new cartoon) so she really wants to dress as Baby Bop and have her father and I dress up as Barney and BJ. I was able to find a green triceratops costume that I can add some stuff to and make it Baby Bop for her, but I have no clue where to get a Barney or BJ costume. I cannot find any costumes that resemble the characters except for an inflatable Barney costume, but it's expensive and I think it would scare her anyway.

PLEASE help me find a Barney and a BJ costume. It doesn't have to look exactly like them but it needs to be similar enough that some easy alterations will make it work. No bad ideas. She will be heartbroken if we can't dress up as her favorite characters with her!!!

I attached a photo of the gang and the costume I found for her that I will be altering. Thank you so much in advance for the help!!!

Help😢

Does anyone know how to make this costume look good and not cheap if I don’t get it custom made? I have ideas on what to do with the arm pieces and the skirt, but what do I do for the top I’m not sure what to do or use for the top without it looking cheap and tacky. Any ideas?

What Now?

These are my previous costumes for the past few years. Kind of drawing a blank for this year. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How can I improve my costume?

I don’t have many pictures showcasing the features of it, as the ones I have came from a photoshoot of the character, but it is on stilts and stands about 8 feet tall when fully upright, and it walks around hunched over. It also has digigrade legs on the back, which are not shown because they were added recently. How can I improve it to make it scarier or more interesting?

Sandy Costume (Grease)

Hey, I’m hoping to be Sandy from Grease this year, but I want my costume to be as authentic looking as possible. I would also prefer to buy a full costume that includes at least pants, top/bodysuit, belt.

Honestly, I don’t know if such a thing exists that would look good and not cheaply made, but if anyone has any ideas of where to look or has found a great costume past please let me know!!! My only complaint with finding the pieces myself is finding a belt that’s accurate to hers.

I looked at this amazon one but ensure if it’s accurate or scam, and for that price I just want to be sure!

Thanks for the help!

Invisible Man Costume (Update #2)

Today was a very productive one. I bought a blazer with a matching lapel (see pictures 1 and 3) and took it apart as a template for my robe. It fit well, so I figured it’d be a good idea. I had a SECOND good idea, which was to remove the jacket lining, and use it for my robe instead of making my own lining since my sleeves use the same pattern of the sleeves in which lining came from in the first place, if that makes sense. Anyway, I successfully Dr. Frankensteined the blazer, removing an exterior torso half, a sleeve exterior, a sleeve lining, the torso and remaining sleeve lining, and the lapel/collar, all still in one piece. I got to sewing too, as I also bought matching thread and a seam-ripper for the project earlier today. With the pieces of the blazer I oh-so-carefully removed, I traced the sleeves onto the velvet, and cut out two identical pieces. I started sewing, but things quickly backfired, and I lost my streak when the machine just decided not to thread my… well- thread, so the needle was just moving up and down for no reason. Eventually, I got that fixed. Then, I successfully hemmed the end of ONE sleeve, and was going to reverse the stitching, and it jammed, and it jammed BAD. Like, I had to take apart the sewing machine just to see here the issue was. Unfortunately, the issue is a BITCH, so I just got up and left it there to be tomorrow’s problem. On another bright side, I’m gonna order my gloves and ascot for the costume now!

Which one should I go with? Onsie or classic costume for university parties?

Stuck in the decision to make for which one to go with for the uni parties this autumn. Many of my friends spend weeks building these highly detailed outfits completely from scratch and they look absolutely amazing.

And they start complaining about being frozen when walking out or taking a bus.

I'm leaning towards just buying a massive onesie and being done with it. It's really comfortable kinda like a big wearable sleeping bar, going over the normal clothes and easy to wash. Do you wear onsie to house parties or am i the only one who does this?

Deciding on what costume to get (Terrifier)

I know it’s just August but I didn’t really have any luck in getting an art the clown costume because it was too late to get one on spirit halloween, all opinions aside… this is probably the only store I have around that carries costumes in town so…

I know I want to go as Art, but I’m having trouble in choosing which one🤔 I love all versions of him. The Santa suit, the original one is a classic of course but I just don’t know. Any opinions would be VERY helpful and appreciated. And honestly? Im wondering which one would get more “noticed” like if you saw me dressed as the Santa version would you know its Art? I know some won’t and honestly its not that big a deal but I do wonder if the original would be more noticeable (obviously) and terrifying🤔

(Photos will be below but I’m kinda more of a fan of the Santa mask but it would be nice to hear from others)

Invisible Man Costume (Update #1)

I ordered burgundy velvet for the robe, as I plan to model it after the pictures above. For anyone interested in the specific velvet I bought, it’s linked below. But yeah, it has arrived and been thoroughly washed. I hope to find a blazer tomorrow with a similar fit and lapel so I can scrap it for parts and use it as a template.
