Medford to Bandon via Hwy 42/42S

I’ve taken the southern route by the Redwoods to get to the Oregon coast. No big deal.
Next month family is coming to visit and I’d like to make a coastal trip for the views, etc. Considering taking I-5 north to Winston then Hwy 42/42S to Bandon.
What is Hwy 42 like for traveling? Are there any conditions that I’d need to be mindful of? Open to any suggestions, ideas, or tidbits.

🧭 2020 Tacoma SR - Onboard Compass Inquiry

This is a repost from three years ago.

What are folks using for a compass?
Found out my 2020 SR doesn't have an
OEM directional compass system/ display.

Right now my only option is using a map in Apple Car Play. It'd be nice to not plug in the phone every time I go for a drive.

Open to feedback - Anybody come up with a way to upgrade/add a compass to their Taco that does not have a factory OEM compass?

Are there any hacks or an aftermarket device that's simple to use and aesthetic i.e., good form & function?

Traeger Trailhead Needs Augmentation

Recently purchased from Costco. Have done a few cooks and I’m discovering thermal retention is a big issue.
Initially, after starting the grill with the lid closed, it’ll get to the target temperature (225F) pretty quickly (~10 minutes).

When the lid is opened to add meat, I transfer the meat quickly along with the temperature probe and close the lid.

The ambient grill temperature drops 20-30 degrees. Going forward, the grill temperature does not return to 225.

Researching this subreddit I came across some information that might help.

Fellow Redditor mentioned that Home Depot offers a range of heat retardant insulation products designed to resist heat flow and enhance thermal efficiency.

Came across a Ceramic Fiber Blanket that’s rated to 2400F. During a cook, the blanket would be draped on top of the grill lid; not covering any vents.

Would like to know if anybody has gone this route or something similar. How’d it work for heat retention?

Modest Mouse @ Brit

Went online to purchase a couple tickets for Modest Mouse @ the Britt Pavilion in August - Discovered the show to be sold out.
If anyone has tickets but not going to the show, or anybody knows where I can snag some tickets; I’d certainly be open to that.
