is proper tongue posture going to widen my upper palate or should i stop?

hey, so i’ve had improper tongue posture my whole life and unfortunately i was never motivated to fix it as a kid when dentists pointed it out to me.
now i’m an adult (in my early 20s) and after researching the long term health benefits of proper tongue posture and swallowing technique, i decided to give it a shot.
my problem is that my upper palate is simply too narrow to support my tongue, so it pushes against my teeth on the sides and i’m feeling a lot of pressure pain after two / three days.
i’m not interested in getting surgery done, so i just need someone to tell me if there’s a point to keeping up good tongue posture and if my palate will adapt with time or if i’m only going to mess up my teeth and hurt myself.

(i already have an open bite and misaligned jaws from years of improper tongue posture but i really don’t want to mess them up further. if that’s the case i’d rather face the long term tongue posture consequences)

thanks in advance
