First time panic attack from Zoloft/weed

I started Zoloft and was on it for about 9 days for anxiety. The last day I took it, I smoked weed (legal state. Have been honest with my usage with my dr. She didn't really say much about it). It sent me into a full blown panic attack. Tingling, sweating, high heart rate, lasted about two hours. Never had anything like that happen before. I've been smoking for 15 years. I promptly stopped Zoloft bc the only change in my day to day was Zoloft.

I kinda wish I ever started the Zoloft bc now I feel like my anxiety is worse. Smoking was always my end of day chill out thing and I'm afraid I won't be able to enjoy it again. I've been having some smaller, short lived waves of panic since then. I went and got a bunch of tests done (EKG, bloodwork, heart enzyme tests) everything was completely normal so I know now at least this is panic related.

Has anyone had this interaction before with weed and Zoloft? Will I ever be able to smoke again? It was the one thing that gave me some relief and I really enjoyed. I've been off of Zoloft for 6 days and I'm starting to feel back to normal but I'm scared to smoke again.

Serotonin Syndrome after switching to 50mg Zoloft after 8 days?

Hi all - I made a post in /zoloft a few days ago but wanted to get some more insight from professionals.

My psychiatrist started me on 25mg of Zoloft on August 4. She advised me to increase to 50mg on day 6 which I did. The night of the increase, I had smoked a little bit of cannabis as I hadn't been sleeping. I've been open and honest about using cannabis (have a medical card) as that's what I traditionally used for anxiety which is what I was prescribed Zoloft for.

Anyway, that night, I experienced a horrible episode of being drenched in sweat, full body tingling or burning sensations, weakness, dissociation, and general unwell was and chest pressure. I almost ended up in the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack, but my heart rate was only mildly elevated.

Needless to say I stopped the medication. The episodes continued mildly over the next few days. Today I finally feel somewhat back to normal. I advised my doctor what was going on and she said she's never heard of side effects like this from a low dose but it sounded like serotonin syndrome. We agreed I won't begin another medication at this time.

I guess I'm looking to understand if this is something that can actually occur? I don't take other medications, my bloodwork and EKG was all fully normal about two months ago and I have no other health conditions.

It was one of the scariest experiences of my life and while I trust my doctor has my best interests in mind, she seemed a bit perplexed.

Am I an anomaly? Is this a rare unfortunate occurrence i experienced? Thank you for your input.

Looking for advice - first time panic attacks from stopping

Hi everyone. I started Zoloft but quickly stopped after 8 days as it initiated panic attacks, something I've never had before in my life. My doctor advised that I may need to try something else. I stopped about 3 days ago and I'm still having rolling panic attacks.

It's a shame because at first I felt like Zoloft was really helping me. Since I was only on 50mg for one day, and 25mg for 7 days, she said i could safely stop altogether.

I'm not sure what to do about the panic. Will this stop? Can I expect to get back to baseline soon? It's a pretty scary experience for me especially because my only issue prior to starting Zoloft was general anxiety.

I'm not here to bash Zoloft- I know it does wonders for folks. But clearly did not work with my brain chemistry.

Payrollorg CPP not showing on profile?

I know payrollorg seems to be doing some maintenance on their site. I noticed my CPP designation isn't listed next to my name like it usually is and the recertification log is down. Anyone else have the same experience? My cert is good through 2028 and I'm almost near my needed RCHs so I'm freaking out a bit.
