Earlier this week my wife was having serious pains in her abdomen so we went to the emergency room. At the ER they did a CT scan which found she had appendicitis. They performed emergency surgery by making a few small incisions, sticking these probe looking things in, cutting off the appendix and pulling it out through one of the incisions. No cutting her wide open to get to it. Post surgery was resting a couple hours in the hospital with some pain meds and now she’s resting comfortably at home (even logged into work the next day). Whole thing from ER to back home was like 8 hours. Absolutely incredible.

The whole time not one prayer nor dua was said. Doctors didn’t say bismillah before starting. No one cared what clothes she was wearing. It was just a lot of kafirs using medical science to save the life of another kafir. People dedicating their lives to helping others and not just so they can get into heaven.

The amount of science and engineering that culminated in that hospital is what’s truly awe inspiring.

Hi, we’ve been using the Breville barista express for years and she loves it while I like it. I’m just starting to take my espresso seriously and the BBE begins acting up. This is our 2nd one and I really don’t want to get another. I’ve been thinking of the GCP (with gaggimate eventually) but when she hears it takes 15 mins of warmup it becomes a no. She wants something similar to what she has now, you turn it on hit a button and it’s done. She’s never going to weigh her beans or time her shots. My immediate option is the bambino but is there anything else? I’ve already ordered an encore esp grinder.

Also, she gets up hours before me so I can’t make it for her in the morning.

Edit: It had been leaking water because the screws holding up the group head were loose and I didn’t want to do the hours long repair of taking it apart just to access the screws to tighten them. Well I just saw a YouTube vid that showed where the screws are and said to drill holes into the plastic to access them. That’s what I just tried and now my issue is fixed for less than 10 mins of work. I’ll be keeping the BBE for a while longer. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions !
