What breed specific activities / stimulation do you recommend?

I have a 6 year old bull lurcher who has an anxious temperament. She was bred for lamping & would be so good at it but I don’t love the idea of it. I would like to incorporate more breed specific activities to help her anxiety. Currently she loves swimming to retrieve sticks, finding bits of rabbit ears I hide around, chasing a football, and carrying really heavy rocks at the beach. She loves training & knows many tricks. Would love to hear what activities work well for your lurchers?

Is feeling excited and a bit agitated after increasing fluoxetine dose normal?

30 F, I take 30mg fluoxetine and 20mg Elvanse. Dx: ADHD, CPTSD, OCD, depressive episodes.

My dose of fluoxetine was increased from 20mg to 30mg on 26th June 2026. The past couple of days I’ve been feeling really good, feel energised and idk how to describe it other than excited feeling. Had the energy to see my friends and go out more which makes a change.

On the flip side with this energy I also feel quite agitated, especially if am sitting still for too long (tricky as I work an office job). My concentration is non existent my work productivity is down the drain. Keep standing up and doing other things not work. I also am getting angry or irritable over really minor things.

Is this a normal side effect of a dose increase and when can I expect this to wear off?

My finger nails are curling down

30F, 67kg 170cm - take fluoxetine & Elvanse. No medical conditions that I’m aware of other than POTS, Reynards, GERD. Frequently have chest pains & palpitations. Apple Watch ECG picks up PVCs. Had one ECG done in A&E which was normal and told my chest symptoms are anxiety. Never seen a cardiologist (POTS diagnosed by GP). Was anaemic (ferritin: 10) when I had a blood test almost a year ago & haven’t treated it. My thyroid T4 was 11 in January, haven’t rechecked it. I’m a bit worried that my finger nails curling & ends of my fingers looking more bulbous is something serious. It started on the index fingers maybe around a year ago and has spread to the other fingers & got significantly worse over the past few months.

Edit: forgot to add I have had anorexia for 10 years BMI has always been underweight up until 1 year ago & I have also smoked tobacco & cannabis for 10 years daily. A bit worried about my heart atp. My mum has chronic high blood pressure & my maternal grandma had a heart attack at 70 years old but no genetic heart conditions in my family

Could this possibly be a tool?

It’s not sharp at all, I know it’s probably unlikely. I found it in the south of England while fossil hunting near cliffs where theres ice age fossils.

Is antipsychotic withdrawal psychosis a real thing?

Please can someone help settle this for me. I stopped 550mg of seroquel cold turkey in January after taking it for a year. I had symptoms of psychosis for 3 months as a result. Google said sudden ceasing of high doses can cause psychosis. I spoke to a Psychiatrist about it a month ago and he told me withdrawal can’t cause psychosis, but it can cause pre-existing psychosis to re-emerge. This was a huge shock to me & I had a panic attack in t he appointment. I’ve since spoken to my Psychologist about it who had the complete opposite opinion, she said withdrawal psychosis is a real side effect of stopping antipsychotics suddenly and that it does not mean I have underlying psychosis.

This conflicting advice is really stressing me out, who is right?

Can Seroquel permanently ruin your sleep & metabolism?

30F. I was on 500mg of seroquel for 1 year and stopped it cold turkey in January of this year. I was put on it for apparent bipolar but I am sure that was a misdiagnosis.

Prior to being on it I had a fast metabolism & weighed 110lbs while on it I gained 40lbs. A blood test showed my thyroid was low, but since stopping seroquel I have barely lost any weight despite only eating one meal a day plus some snacks. By this point I hoped my metabolism / thyroid would have returned to normal but it clearly hasn’t.

Up until 2022 I always needed A LOT of sleep like 12 hours & wouldn’t feel rested. Then I started getting months at a time of only needing a few hours sleep & waking up feeling great. On Seroquel I was back to sleeping 12 hours & struggling to wake up. When I first quit taking it I was sleeping like 2 hours per night, some nights no sleep. That’s improved over past 6 months but I’m still only managing 5 -6 hours per night. I don’t feel tired from it, just wondering if the medication has permanently reduced how much sleep I need?

Some recent finds!

Might be a rock hoarder at this point 🫣 all rocks found South of England, + two bits of slag glass. I’m particularly fond of the different varieties of Granite I keep finding

Any ideas what type of bottle this is?

Very small blue bottle dug out of the garden of a Victorian era property. It has a cross on the bottom but nothing else identifiable. (UK)

Why does my leg shake like that?

30F, 67kg 175cm. No diagnosis or medication other than fluoxetine 20mg for anxiety. Left leg has started to shake violently when standing, doesn’t matter what way I stand or how I weight bear. It stops when sitting/ resting, doesn’t happen in the other leg. I regularly get cramps in the calf which can happen in the day & at night waking me. I’m fit & active, walk 10k steps a day at least.

Seroquel withdrawal psychosis

Hi I’m wondering if I can get another opinion on what my psychiatrist has told me following some conflicting advice.

30 y/o female, 5”7 65kg white. Dx: CPTSD, ADHD, OCD & Bipolar (but I do not feel this diagnosis was correct or fully assessed)

I was on 600mg of Seroquel for almost a year before I quit it suddenly in January of this year.

As is to be expected it was a rough ride, in hindsight from what I can remember it appears I experienced some sort of psychosis for around 8 weeks. Overall I wasn’t okay for about 4 months. I have not experienced psychosis before.

I assumed my symptoms were all due to sudden withdrawal from a high dose of anti-psychotic. I recently had an initial assessed with a psychiatrist who told me that coming off anti-psychotics does not cause psychosis it just allows pre-existing symptoms to come back.

I was devastated / in shock at this and broke down in the appointment thinking I could now have psychosis at any moment. I spoke to my very experienced psychologist yesterday and she had a completely different opinion.

The psychologist stated that Seroquel withdrawal psychosis is a known thing and it has nothing to do with pre-existing psychosis and all to do with sudden withdrawal from a high dose.

I now don’t know who to believe, both the psychologist and psychiatrist work for the same organisation. I’ve been anxious for weeks following what the psychiatrist said, I want to trust the opinion I got yesterday but how could a psychiatrist not know about this supposed withdrawal psychosis? Any opinions would be grateful appreciated.
