Here is wht I have after 2 weeks

Hey there. I am very early in development, but I wanted to share how a game can look after this period of time ( note that I am spending only a couple of hours every day on it).

Disclaimer: it's VERY early. Absolutely ALL the art is placeholder, from UI to 3D, to VFX.

Impossible to connect to network

Hey there.
I got a Roborock QRevo S5V some months ago.

Out of nowhere, the roborock went offline. No change was made to my wifi network, or on the roborock settigns, it just happened randomly.

I tried to reconnect in all possible ways: I split my wifi to Regular and 5ghz ( connecting to the not-5ghz), I tried with my phone with hotspot.
I reinstalled the app( who knows...), and I even did a factory reset, not result.

I explained the issue to support, and at some point they asked to send it to them.
I did, they checked, and saw no issue (they sent me a video where they actually connect it).
Now they sent it back, but I still can't connect it.

Any idea what could happen?

Why I gave up on PM tools and went back to spreadsheets

For a while now, I am working mostly on small projects. My early carrer was in mid or big teams in wel known international studios, and we used the usual stuff like jira, trello, notion, etc.

When I started on small team projects (some times just myself), those tools were absolutely not suiting our budget and the free version were not good enough, and too restrictive.

We used the kanban a lot but it didn't really help on meeting the deadlines and I have learned the hard way that without them, the whole production gets out of hands very quickly.
So little by little, I started handling the produciton side on spreadsheet. I am an excel freak so to be honest it was also just super fun to make it that way.

Little by little it became bigger and smaller, and bigger and smaller :D

Now our spreadsheet handles more or less everything: gantt view, auto calculations, it looks for dependencies, checks days off, etc. Everythingautomatic so even my colleagues can use it without excel knowledge whatsoever. And as a designer/producer, what I added recently was sprint and milestone dashboards that showed me quickly where we were standing and where we should rush.

But it also got me thinking: We are not the only one who can't afford the subscriptions of the trellos or other tools, how do other teams do? I know that often, production is not the most fun part but, I saw it several times, if you have clearer deadlines, clearer milestones, you keep motivation and your speed is much higher. So what are you guys using for production??

Hey,

I built a production dashboard in Google Sheets for my own studio and I've been using it daily for a while now. Curious what other small teams would want to see in that kind of dashboard.

I have a sprint dashboard and a project dashboard with a couple of kpis that i like.

What's the kind of thinf you always end up checking or wish you could see at a glance?
