Has anyone had any luck programming baofeng GT-18 (T-18?) frs radios?

I recently purchased a set of 4 of these FRS radios for each of my kids to communicate with when we go camping. I cannot get any of my computers to read or write to these radios. I have tried chirp on 4 different computers(MacOS intel/apple, Linux, and windows) using just about every radio profile(I did see that retevis 618 is the recommended profile as well as baofeng 888. I tried the baofeng software, i have tried the wireless programming adapter, i have tried 3 different programming cables. All my other radios (4x ICOM, 2x TID H3, 8 x Baofeng) all program with out any issues but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to program these FRS radios and it’s driving me insane!!!

Radio for 5th wheel

I want to install a radio in my 5th wheel, I was planning on installing my MARS modded ICOM 4100 but it would be over kill for my use case (I also don't feel like fishing power all the way to the battery bay again). Since this would be used to communicate with my kids FRS radios I was thinking a basic handheld radio mounted to the wall powered by USB with an external antenna. My testing was less than scientific, but reception is reduced considerably when trying to reach the kids while inside the camper vs outside the camper with a 5 watt handheld. My question is would I see an increase in performance if I had something like a baofeng connected to an antenna mounted outside the 5th wheel with maybe 10-15ft of coax?

Best software for hard drive recovery(raid 0, 2 drives)

I recently got a solid red light on my LaCie big 2 dock. I had 2 6tb drives was in raid 0. This array was used to store/edit photos and was backed up weekly to a synology nas as well as multiple 2tb portable hard drives every now and then as time/money allowed. Unfortunately the automated weekly back ups have not been done in 13 months, so I’m potentially going to lose a few thousand photos. I tried a different computer, power cycling, and reseating both drives all with no luck. I plugged both drives separately into a computer with usb adapter. They both seemed to spin up with no strange noises so I don’t think the drives are bad. I’ve seen quite a few recommendations for software that might be able to reconstruct the array virtually so I’m hopeful I’ll have a decent chance for recovery.

My question is what’s the best software package and what OS would give me the best chance of successfully recovering my photos? I don’t know if it matters but the LaCie was being used on a Mac and I’m pretty sure I used the default raid settings when I originally created the array. I have a windows pc, multiple pcs with Ubuntu (server and desktop), as well as 2 unraid servers. My research has led me to disk drill, r-rescue, and dmde. A majority of these photos are of my 2 year old so as much as I want to keep costs down I don’t mind paying for software if it increases my chances of recovery… thanks in advance!!

what can I use to stick 3d printed cable organizer to 5th wheel?

I have 2 usb powered ceiling fans and an ethernet cable I want to run cables for. I 3d printed a bunch of sections of channel but im not sure what would be the best adhesive to use to stick to the ceiling. I would like to be able to remove it at some point without damaging anything. We recently had a camping trip on one of the kids birthdays and scotch tape ripped the wood looking paper off( the white dot above the fridge in the first photo)

Outlets not working when using generator…

I have a 50amp 5th wheel with the inverter prep(no inverter currently installed). I keep it plugged in at home to a 15amp plug via a 30amp surge protector and a dog bone adapter(waiting for 30/50amp outlet to be installed). I haven’t tested every outlet but I haven’t noticed any 120v outlets that don’t work while plugged into the house like this… We just had a power outage so to keep the kids occupied and comfortable I connected the 30amp surge protector directly to my generator and moved everyone out there. The only 120v outlets that had power were the inverter prep outlets. Does anyone know why the outlets wouldn’t work while connected to the generator and why they would work when connected to the house?

Does anybody know the name of this connector? It’s keeping my inverter prep loop connected if that helps?
