Saw a guy take a blue bike on the ferry to Hoboken and was curious (but not enough to approach him):
Why would you do that when you can dock at the terminal and take another bike when you disembark?
Don't you get a fine for taking them across state line?
Why would anyone do that, unless they're stolen in which case they just don't care?
I live in Hoboken and work in Manhattan, love riding blue citibike in both for commute, errands and recreation.
I've been taking some longer rides lately - the longest being the Hudson River Greenway all the way up to Inwood Hill Park which was a lovely experience but also nearing the limit of where I can go that's not too far from a docking station. Plus the climb up after the GWB was a nightmare 😅
Thinking of buying my own bike to supplement for longer / more interesting rides. I've had hybrids before and liked them, not sure whether to buy ones or switch to road or gravel for more rough trails (I have a car so getting away from the city is easy).
How many of you also have your own bikes, and what do you use then for?
