Mustang toyz cyclops repaint
Still need to find a similar yellow to touch up the straps and wrists. This is my first crack at painting faces too.

Still need to find a similar yellow to touch up the straps and wrists. This is my first crack at painting faces too.
I got mine for $38 CAD with stacking coins, store and AliExpress coupons to get it at a lower price and I will link the store I got it from in the comments.
Articulation: feels very smooth aside from odd time the upper knee and elbow joint catches to when putting back to neutral position (even happens on cts and other kos). Joints are very strong and smooth, the head is loose on one of the necks, and the visors sit nicely on the heads but will thicken connection on the bigger one as it's still weighty, and hands swap easily with a nice click when swapping.
Paint: Basically the weakest part of the figure as I expected from other reviews. Wrist areas have bad paint bleeding happening especially on the left one. Yellow on thigh straps is rough on the majority of it. Some of the blues are darker in spots compared to the rest of the body or face. The blast effects were very well done though and surprised they captured the subtle gradient white to pinkish red. The smirking face has blue missing on the back and all the faces have slight blue misaligned on the masks which is normal for kos and the face is very pale. The majority of it can be touched up if you're a customizer.
Sculpt/mould: Overall not to bad of a mould they did from copying the original, it is scaled down because of this but looks good. The faces, visors, and hair are very cleanly done just a lack of paint in the face. Half the hands have some excess plastic on palms and where the joint goes on is a big rough but looks good aside from that. There was some excess plastic on the chest in the middle and one head had some on the ear I trimmed off quickly, once again easy fixes.
Accessories: Comes with everything as original aside from that cardboard blast effect. Does have the extension torso peg pre installed, I took it apart to verify. The visors do fit better than the original, did many wiggle tests but still recommend thickening the bigger effect to be safe. Hands swap nicely and have a great connection (very satisfying click). The swappable necks are a bit annoying to get on and the more angled one is very loose causing the head to drop or fall off with a blast effect in, tightening it right now as I write this. I wish it did come with the jacket they claimed was going to be included, but many on AliExpress to get later on.
Overall: For the price I got it for it's worth it, but normally at $50ish CAD range it isn't worth it. It's still a ko at the end of the day with it seems very bad QC and i lucked out from the others I've seen with flipped hair, bad paint all over or chipped with major paint bleeding, and bad amount of excess plastic from moulds. If you're able to stack coupons and coins to get it cheaper it could be worth the risk if you can't get the original but want a decent cyclops for similar pricing to a marvel legends. This is great for customizers esp of your good at painting faces. I'll mess around with this once I finish my ct 2.0 Spidey repaint and try to improve some spots.
Main things are paint quality on cowls and tongue effects, minor joint QC issues which are common from copies. KO does come with the preorder bonus face as well and all the same accessories as the original. The same issues with face plate coming loose from Original to ko and loose/floppy neck from how it was designed. Overall for the price though it's not bad, minor easy fixes with super glue and shock oil for tight joints. And paint improves if you are a customizer which I'll be repainting some spots.
Messed up on the upper body so gotta restart it. Arms are 90% done, legs about 60%, head and neck just need web lines but debating not to do them as well. I tested on the legs and it looks good and bad at the same time. Plus my Gundam maker decided to die π also AC joints all fit and a great improvement for anyone wondering
Did a quick assembly to test for paint rub before I finish painting. A few spots mostly on the floating waist pieces just need to sand down a bit. Looking good so far.
Tighten the ankles to hold the weight better, and the forearm joints to hold the tendrils on their own. Went over the venom symbol with a Gundam marker to make the lines pop some more as well.
After a week stuck at customs and an hour to fix the hip tightness it's finally time to pose him. My girl got to him first and posed him with her gwenom.
Gotta say they nailed it once again from mess toys, whomever does their face/head sculpts hat off to you ππ»ππ»ππ»
So mine arrived great aside from very tight/stuck hip joints. I will explain how I fixed mine as I just messed around for an hour trying to get it unstuck and not too tight. You'll need hot water or a hair dryer, and super glue of some sort, also potentially some shock oil if still a bit stiff.
Note: I first tried the hot bath then shock oil when that didn't work, but since the joint comes loose inside the shock oil would seep down through the inside to the thigh swivel joint causing it to pop off.
1.You'll need to heat up the hip area and take off the thigh swivel joint shown in picture 2.
The joint that connects to the hip and thigh swivel might have come loose causing the thigh swivel to push into the hip ball joint making it stiffer or stuck. You can remove this joint fully from inside by heating up more and pushing up a bit or pushing right out if it does move more.
Clean the removed joint with alcohol to make sure the super glue will set. Apply glue around the joint at the bottom where the thigh swivel connects and let dry.
Reassemble all the joints and legs back together and test the thigh swivel and hip joint movements. Apply shock oil as needed if still stiff.
Added a spare wife beater I had and added proper chains to the necklace
Made out of foam, scrap wire from work, thin craft wire, and resin/chains for the stands
