This is my favorite way I’ve seen parents handle someone coming out

So my friend is a lesbian and battled with the thought for a long time, she told some of her friends, but none of her family. She was still conflicted until one day, she’s in her dad’s office and she goes, “I don’t know what to do, I think I like girls.” And her dad goes “Oh, cool, me too!” And doesn’t say anything else. This was handled VERY effectively.

Pls give me good advice and constructive criticism on my power system

This is my first time posting on this page so bear with me if some of it’s a little weird.

Shinzobu (place holder name)

Premise: (this is necessary to the power system)
Ever since the dawn of time, people with twisted desires try and become the Soul King. Once you’ve claimed 1000 souls through a process called soul extraction, you become the soul king. Once the current soul king dies, the spot is opened up again. For centuries people have fought for the spot. The people that combat this evil? Soul Keepers. They use the same power though with virtuous desires to stop a soul king from ever being created again.

Names: (this is necessary to the power system)

People fighting to become soul king - “Soul Stealer” - Awakening Phrase: I hereby state I will dedicate my life and soul to reaping souls so I can bring immense power to this world. As a Soul Stealer.
People fighting to stop the Soul Stealers - “Soul Keepers” - Awakening phrase: I hereby state I will dedicate my life and soul to protecting the world from rotten souls. As a Soul Keeper.

Power System:
Both Soul Takers and Soul Keepers gain a Shinzobu after they say each respective awakening phrase. A Shinzobu is a weapon that matches the soul of the user. A hotheaded brute could have a battle axe while a nimble ninja could have sais or daggers. If a weapon breaks it is almost always because the user’s soul is weak, users must reunite back with their soul to get the weapon back. These weapons have 5 stages: 1.) The Base Form of the weapon - Just the weapon, that’s it. 2.) Enhancement - gives the weapon more strength, speed, durability, etc, it just makes the weapon stronger in every way. 3.) The weapon’s first projection. Projections are extended attacks from the weapons that make sense with it. Think Bankais, Imperial Arms Trump Cards, Shinka, etc. The amount of times this can be used is based on “Soul Energy” which is gained from getting closer to your own soul. 4.) The weapon’s second projection, another spell-like attack that makes sense within the weapon. The amount of times this can be used is based on “Soul Energy” which is gained from getting closer to your own soul. This attack uses more Soul Energy than the first one. 5.) The weapons third and final projection, this is the biggest one, the final power up. Think of a mastery technique in jjk, The Zone in Kuroku no Basket, etc. This is a big powerup that deals lots of damage but also takes a lot more Soul Energy.

People can also use their soul energy for NON-OFFENSIVE Projections, but only NON-offensive

Universal Techniques:

Soul Reversal - A parry ability that requires immense focus and completely perfect timing. The user imbues their weapon with soul energy right where the attack three times perfectly in the same millisecond.

Soul Striker - A wave of soul energy projected into one single strong attack that requires immense soul synchronization to execute.

Life Force Integration - Users can begin using their life force as a fuel for their Shinzobu, the more they put in, the stronger the attacks, projections, and everything get. If you put 100% or around that you have until your life force runs out to use the weapon before you die. The more life force you use, the stronger the strain on your body. If you use too much, you die. Experienced users always have it on 5 or 10 percent for the increased strength and because they’re able to withstand the strain.
