My Doctor told me to ask AI to formulate me a treatment plan for a chronic IBD
I’ve had terrible stomach pain and digestive issues including blood in stool for like 2 years. Finally got insurance so I went to the doctor, they referred me to a GI doc, completed a colonoscopy and about a month later I get diagnosed with microscopic colitis, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease. They tell me to start taking steroids and that’s it. no follow up appointment, no recommendations for diet change or anything. Based on my googling, I found out microcolitis is often associated with celiac disease and other food intolerances. I scheduled an appointment with my regular PCP to ask them if they could tell me what my diagnosis means and what steps I should be taking going forward. My doctor literally says “Oh I hate to say it but AI is going to be your best friend. Just tell it your symptoms and diagnoses and it’ll generate a diet plan for you and you can use it to monitor your symptoms”. WHY DID I COME HERE THEN??? Genuinely what is the point of you as a doctor if I can just ask AI and magically receive all the help I need? And that’s to point, is I DONT trust AI and would much rather a professional who has spent their lives studying medicine to give me sound medical advice as a layperson. How am i supposed to determine if the AI is hallucinating or giving me bad advice? Money out of my paycheck just to be told to get medical advice from chatgpt. The American healthcare system is a joke. Tell me if I’m crazy
Hi everyone! My longtime partner and I are eloping this year and we’re looking to go ring shopping. We’d like to get second hand rings, but we’d still like them to be decent quality and not costume jewelry-esque. Where in Phoenix (or the Valley generally) can you find good quality rings?
Been to a couple thrift and antique stores in the west valley and didn’t find anything promising. Willing to spend $100-$200 per ring.
Thank you!
