Apple claims Health app overheating/battery drain fix coming soon (tied to Bevel)

Was going through a lot of my feedbacks, and one of them involved how the health app would drain an immense amount of battery when Bevel was pulling information from it. They just marked it as potentially fixed. Hopefully, we see some changes on Monday!

Bevel heats up 17 Pro more than AAA gaming

Hi guys,

I've noticed Bevel *really* heating up my 17 Pro. I do a lot of AAA gaming (like Resident Evil) and a lot of Fortnite, and none of those heat up the phone quite as much as Bevel.

From a technical standpoint, is this a known bug in the current version, or is the entire app just running some intense on-device processing? If it's all on-device, does anyone know what the team is doing to mitigate the heat and battery drain?

Also, side note: I'm really interested in joining the TestFlight beta to help test new features and give feedback (I'm a marketing major, so I absolutely love seeing how products evolve and get tweaked behind the scenes!). For those of you already in the beta, how fast did you hear back after submitting your application? I don't mind having to be really engaged as I use the app daily. Thanks!

Got an interview for an Apple seasonal role, but my out of state college starts Sept 1st

I have an interview coming up for a seasonal position at Apple and I am really excited about it, honestly this is my dream job. The problem is my college is out of state and classes start September 1st, so there is a real conflict on the horizon between the role and my school schedule.
I need this job, so I am trying to think through the smartest way to handle the timing. I am an Apple enthusiast so I know most of the training will be little things and less so product knowledge.

Is it normal for students to wait until close to the start date, like two weeks out, before bringing up the conflict with a manager?

A few specific things I am trying to figure out:
• Has anyone been able to move to a more online or limited in person role for the part of the season that overlaps with school, or is that just not realistic for a retail position like this?
• Are internal transfers a real option, like switching to a store closer to campus once the semester starts?
• If you have done seasonal retail while also being a full time student, how did you actually bring up the school schedule without it costing you the offer?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has navigated something like this, especially other college students who took a seasonal role knowing they would need to leave or scale back once classes started. Trying to figure out the right approach and the right timing before I say anything.

Something is really wrong with my app

The app is basically bricked for me. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I’ve tried doing everything. Data from backend etc. it seems like there’s something corrupted somewhere but the app is behaving so strangely. It started glitching after a duplicate data entry. Can someone from the team check on this? 😭

Cart vs timeline friction

I’m a little confused. Why are there two separate places to review food before it’s inputted? Why are carts in each individual chat? It makes everything very confusing. Before, I could scan a food and review all the foods at the end of the day in the Timeline where it showed the foods as “Ready to Review”. Now I have to check different locations and have to scroll through my chats to find the meals? Is there a way to Auto-add cart items to the Timeline? This adds a lot of friction imo!

If I could sum it up: add a “Cart” section under Health Records where it has all your carts from your chats, or even better, combine the Timeline to include items from carts.

Previous flow: Scan food -> ready to review end of day

Current flow: Scan food -> makes cart in individual chats -> have to open all the individual chats to find the ones where food was scanned and accept the food end of day -> have to ALSO check timeline for the items scanned with barcode/done without AI end of day

Future flow?: Scan/chat food -> All foods scanned by Bevel, barcodes, in chats all appear in Timeline ready to review end of day

Log/cart

I don’t get why foods logged in chats aren’t added to my log for review. It leads to me forgetting tons of meals since they aren’t stored with the other ones. Bad UX design imo, there shouldn’t be two carts/verify before adding sections!Would love a fix (or toggle!) bevel team :)

▲ 4 r/OpenAI

Unpopular opinion: OpenAI should spend a LARGE ad campaign budget on some sort of environmental impact campaign. Whether it’s planting a tree every X amount of queries OR at least clarifying that AI WATER USE IS EXTREMELY OVERBLOWN. Even just a video posted to YouTube that explains closed loop cooling.

Their water use is a fraction of what other industries (golf courses, water parks, fountains) use. The anti-AI crowd is only getting bigger. I can’t use ChatGPT in my university library without someone going up to me saying how bad it is for the environment. It’s the LITERAL BIGGEST factor holding them back. They should invest more on science.

been using Bevel for a while and referred a ton of my college friends because i genuinely believe in it. then V3 dropped and the price increase caught everyone off guard a little.

as a college student, every dollar counts. $15/month is already close to what most major AI tools charge (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) and those have a *ton* more use cases (and $15x12 for 4 years adds up!).

SO many apps and services have student discounts (Gemini Pro is free for students). it would be amazing if Bevel did! it’s one of the most useful apps i’ve used and i’d hate for the price to be the reason me and other students start dropping off.
