First time DIYer - kitchen renovation
Moved in to a house Victorian house a year ago. First project was the kitchen as it was dated, damaged, and growing mould in places.
I took the whole thing back to brick, insulated and plasterboarded the walls and ceiling. Installed underfloor heating, levelled it and then tiled. Fitted a new stop cock and did all of the relevant plumbing. Demolished the internal chimney breast and bricked it all back up again (a roof removed the external chimney). Tiled the backsplash, installed the shelving and painted. Installed the new radiator - along with putting pipes in for it.
We had fitters install the actual units themselves as we wanted to make sure that was done first time.
It was probably a baptism of fire as being the most complex room for a new DIYer to tackle, but feel like I’ve really quickly developed lots of skills!
No moving onto completing the exterior of the house while we have the good weather!
