I passed my Kat A. license as a foreigner!
I don't really have anyone to share the news with, so I thought I'd post it here.
But yeah, I finally passed my kat A license in Poznan WORD.
I'm a foreigner (British immigrant) and my Polish is still in the learning stage. So I did need a translator for it.
But for other foreign nationals who may be lurking here, I just wanted to say that you can pass your driving tests as well, it will just be a bit more costly due to finding an instructor who can speak your language + costs for sworn translation service.
What's funny is that I was told that driving examiners at these WORD centers can be very difficult, and will always try to find imperfections. But in my case, my examiner was incredibly chill and easy to work with.
He didn't have anything against me being a foreigner at all (making him smile with my half broken Polish probably helped), and overall was just a very friendly dude.
I don't live in the Poznan area either, but Poznan was the closest place where I could find an English speaking instructor for my required 20 hour course that didn't want to charge me a ridiculous price for it.
One thing that's surprisingly great about Poland... and you're probably not going to hear this from anyone else - it's the bureaucracy.
The next day after passing, I got an email from my local starost saying that they received confirmation that I passed my exam, and that I just need to pay the 100zł (which I could do via bank transfer) and email confirmation of payment to them.
I did that, and the next morning I saw on info-kierowca that my license document has been sent for... it's just a waiting game now.
I didn't have to take any documentation anywhere, or go to the office or anything like that. They made it incredibly easy for me.
While it's not always the case, the efficiency of these official services generally surprises me.
I also see that in mObywatel website that my provisional license is there as well with my new categories. So technically I'm already ready to start driving around on the bike.
Again, super efficient and convenient with these services. I really do love this country and how easy and convenient they make things for not only their citizens but residents too.
Anyway, thought I'd share my good news, and perhaps bump some encouragement for any other foreign national resident looking to do any driving tests as well.
Pozdrawiam
