Ban horse carriages in NYC
Hi everyone, I'm sure many of you saw that another horse tragically died in central park last night. There are videos circulating of the poor horse gasping for breath as he lies on the ground. It's extremely distressing.
The city council is reintroducing ryder's law tomorrow, which would ban horse carriages in the city. Voters for animal rights has made an easy site where you can urge your city council person to support the bill.
My heart breaks for these horses and with summer coming and the weather getting hotter, I can only imagine there will be more incidents like this. Please urge your council member to pass ryder's law.

Petition to send Patty the elephant to sanctuary
I'm sure many of you saw that Happy the elephant died at the Bronx Zoo yesterday after living alone for years and numerous attempts to convince the Bronx Zoo to move her to sanctuary.
There is another elephant there now, Patty, who is also alone. Voters for Animal Rights has a petition urging the zoo to release her to sanctuary, if anyone is interested in signing: https://vfar.org/what-we-do/our-work/patty/
