Advice to m3 considering OBGYN>MFM vs. Rads>Breast imaging?

Pretty much title! I’ve been long dedicated to Obgyn and never really felt called to anything else. I love pregnancy care and deliveries and women’s health in general.

All that to say, I also want to have a family and be very present for my kids. I love traveling. I want to have time to do a few of my hobbies. I want to have the ability to make family events. I discovered rads & breast imaging as a career field — something that incorporates women’s health, involves patient facing care and occasional procedures (ie biopsies), and flexible lifestyle.

Obgyn has a reputation for poor work life balance, high burnout, high dissatisfaction rates. From OBGYNs, do yall have advice or insight for navigating this decision process? Is it really that difficult to make things work when you have a family?

I know a lot of people also suggest OBGYN and recommend doing gyne only. I dont have anything against doing gyne as part of Obgyn but the major reason for my interest is the OB side of things.

I know n=1 and Reddit is Reddit, but I’m very thankful for all feedback!!

OBGYN→MFM vs. DR→Breast Imaging

Hi all, current MS3 here. At the end of the day, I'm just looking for any insight/advice ya'll may have to help me think about this (especially if you are a specialist in these fields)!

MFM-I've been long interested in OBGYN, I ultimately LOVE pregnancy care + love the fact that it's a little bit of everything, i.e. procedural/OR time + clinic time. I specifically like MFM and the potential to work with POCUS and high-risk pregnancies. I know the pay is good, and I've heard that MFM actually has a better work-life balance (relative to general OBGYN).

DR/Breast Imaging-To be honest, I didn't give radiology much time/interest for the longest time. But I like the potential of breast imaging to still have work within women's health while still having a very good work-life balance and decent pay (though I don't know if pay is as good as MFM). I do want to have kids/raise a family and really value travel/vacation and free time to volunteer and do other activities. My biggest FEAR (and why I have never considered radiology) is the advancement of AI and encroachment of AI in the field as a whole.

Any advice/feedback is so very appreciated!! TIA

EDIT: OBGYN is my next rotation, and then I'm planning on doing a DR elective this year. So I don't have clerkship experience to go off yet.

Any idea what's wrong here or how to fix?

This is obviously NOT my average -- but I noticed this is way off today. I tried logging in/out, restarting my computer, force quitting the app and reopening. Not sure what's going on here but would love to figure out how to fix this!

An additional issue (maybe related?) is that my streak is not showing up. Current streak=0 despite continued use?
Thank you!

In the western burbs & looking for a really community centered place to donate things (mostly clothes). I do have a box of random household goods, but those can go to Goodwill if needed.

Clothes are worn but good condition and primarily women’s clothes. Would love to donate to a shelter or something similar but most places I look they aren’t accepting clothing donations so it’s been tough to find a spot.

Didn’t want to donate Goodwill because I want the items to be free for someone else, not resold.

Backup is Salvation Army but was hoping to find a more local community org.

Thanks!!

Long story short, looking for some way to start making notes about my future wedding. For example, guest list, dress/ring inspo, ceremony inspo, soundtracks, registry gifts etc.

Right now everything is scattered between Insta saved collections, Pinterest, notes, my brain… would love to just consolidate and have a central spot to put all of this, so when the time comes and if I hire a formal planner, I can share all of it.

Does anything like this exist? TIA!
