My wife's grandson is living with us and doesn't do anything with his but play on his gamestation

Hello all, well literally what the title sais!

My wife's grandson toby who is 22 moved in with us 6 months ago as his parents chucked him out and he just doesn't do anything but play computer games on his gamestation. He will sit infront of the machine all day and half the night whacking our electric bill up. He gets universal credit or job seekers or whatever it's called but doesn't give us a penny towards the bills!

I can't really say anything because he is nothing to do with me in terms of family. Me and Margaret married in 2016 and we was both in our 70s at the time.

I have tried to help him find work, I have even offered to lend him my best suit and drive around handing in cvs but he is more interested in this computer games. I can't say much because im not actually his grandad. Margaret seems completely unbothered that he is sat in the living room all day and half the night and does not mind the electric bill going up but it comes out of our pension!

I dont know what i can really do to be honest

Trying to understand our neighbour. We just can't figure him out

Me and my wife recently moved into a bigger house as we now have two children. Our neighbours a very nice people.....but the other neighbour we just can't figure out.

His name is Sam and he is a very, very keep to yourself kind of person. Having a conversation with him is literally impossible. He would say hello and all but he keeps his words very short and he often brushes people off as a nuisance, however, according to the neighbours he is actually a very friendly person but not a social person at all.

We joined the local allotment and Sam had an allotment there too and everyone who knows him say he is very friendly but keeps to himself and speaks very short words while walking past. He wouldn't stop to chat he would just say hello or very breafly ask how you are while walking past . According to malcome who is our allotment neighbour, Sam has severe trust issues.

So it's been 6 months. We have now had several conversations but he just wouldn't stop to chat, always carrys on with what he is doing while talking in the most small centances . He is often very blunt and comes across as a miserable arse who brushes everyone off as if they are a total nuceince.

Today this was our conversation.

Me: hi Sam how are you?

Sam- very well thank you. (Without even looking at me)

Me- do you happen to know how to fix a radio?

Sam- (very bluntly while continuing what he is doing) why? What's wrong with it?

I tell him what was wrong with it and he said, bring it round later on and ill take a look at it.

So i took it round to him and he said, oh yes, I forgot. I'll take a look at it. (Shut the door without saying anything else)

Later on i had a knock on the door and Sam had fixed the radio. Apparently one of the wires had come loose and he had fixed it. With that said, he then walked away and went back home. I said thanks Sam and he said no worries.

So, I can see that he is a friendly person but I dont understand why he talks such short words very bluntly and brushes people off as a nuceince and then goes out of his way to fix my radio. I mean, he literally took the radio apart which would have been very fiddly especially as this radio is a very old radio from the 60s and considering it took him 3 hours to fix it all up I just dont understand why he is the way he is but then goes miles out of his way.

Is this actually acceptable? Surely not!

Hi I need some advice please and apologies in advance if this post is in the wrong place.

Bottom of my road is an alleyway which I use multiple times a week to go to work. On the other side of the fence there is this dog that suddenly barks and it's enough to give you a bloody heart attack. It's a public alleyway so surly this isn't acceptable? I really pity the poor person with a heart condition or an elderly person that jumps because of the dogs bark.

It's not a normal bark either, it's a very aggressive loud bark followed by growling and more barking.

I could understand if he acted like that if I was on his property but I'm walking on a public footpath on a public alleyway so in my opinion it's completely unacceptable

Hi I'm here to pick up my uncle from pre school

Yes you read that correctly. My gran and grandad stupidly had another child and just thought it was so wrong and selfish that they would do that and I didn't even think it was possible at that age. Grandad was 87 and gran was 82.

My uncle Ryan was born so early he had to be put in this machine and literally a week later gran died due to a heart attack. So now, he isn't even going to know his mum. Grandad on the other hand, how the devil is he going to look after a child? He has many health issues and disability.

So me, mum and my brother have been looking after him and last year Grandad passed away. We had talks about giving him to care but then we decided to pitch in, take over and just accept.

So he starts pre school soon and I have been tasked to pick him up from school. So yeah, I'm of to pick up my uncle from school.

What would be better for me? An oled from LG or a qled from Samsung?

Budget is £1000 max and looking for a 42/43 inch. I know bigger is better but my living room is not exactly very big and I have done measurements and a 42/43 will be perfect.

Room gets rather bright on bright days and I do have black out curtains so oled won't be an issue on that behalf.

TV will be used 3-5 hours for gaming + 2-3 hours of watching a series/film and this is on a non work day. On a work day the TV will be used for about 2-3 hours for gaming and about 2 hours for watching a series or film.

I don't play different games at once, I play one game at a time and this is where I think I'll have a screen burn issue because I play role playing games which have lots of static images. I'll play one game for a few hours and then finish of with some call of duty or battlefield.

So, do I go with the oled or the qled?

Thanks
