Bleeding after intimacy

Hi all. I’m currently 6-7 weeks pregnant after multiple losses. I’ve recently been advised I have a small subchorionic hematoma.

I don’t really know what that is but they suspect that’s what was causing the bleeding/spotting. I’ve been on progesterone as it was low early on.
Yesterday I had intimacy and immediately started gushing blood. A week prior to this i had stopped spotting and bleeding all together and now it’s back and pink and bright. Just want to know if this is normal? I’m at work and not sure if I should leave to be going to doctors/hospital

Need advice on recent US

Hi all! Need some advice on my recent ultrasound (I’m not confident in my LMP and don’t know when I ovulated) - for background I’ve had 2x miscarriages in the past and just need some reassurance or truths with these facts. Doctors are just not being helpful to them everything is “normal” but I can’t trust it. My concern is the sac measuring behind and all posts I’ve seen relating to this have resulted in a loss of pregnancy.

Ultrasound report states: Ultrasound shows a single live pregnancy located inside the uterus.

- Gestational sac (MSD) measured 13.0mm, corresponding to approximately 6 weeks and 1 day
- Crown-rump length (CRL) measured 12.3mm, corresponding to approximately 7 weeks and 3 days
- One foetal pole and yolk sac were seen
- Yolk sac measured 4.3mm
- Baby’s heart rate was 154 bpm
- The uterus appears normal with no fibroids
- The cervix is closed
- A small superior subchorionic haemorrhage (small bleed near the pregnancy sac) was seen measuring 16 x 9 x 15mm with a volume of 1.2cc
- No free fluid was seen

Overall impression:
Single live intrauterine pregnancy measuring 7 weeks and 3 days with a small subchorionic haemorrhage present.

Sac measuring behind

Background: 2 miscarriages and currently in a threatened misscarriage.

Had my follow-up ultrasound today after weeks of spotting/bleeding and finally saw a heartbeat, but now I’m worried about the measurements.

The scan showed:
- Gestational sac measuring around 6w1d
- Baby/fetal pole measuring around 7w1d
- Heartbeat seen
- Bleeding around the sac/subchorionic bleed also noted

Has anyone had a pregnancy where the gestational sac measured behind the baby but things still turned out okay?

Google is freaking me out because a lot of posts mention miscarriage risk when the sac measures small compared to the embryo. Would really appreciate honest experiences, especially from anyone who had spotting/bleeding as well.

Anxious

Hi everyone,

Looking for honest opinions/experiences because I’m extremely anxious.

My LMP was around 17–19 March. I’ve had ongoing spotting/brown discharge on and off since around 22 April, ranging from light brown spotting to occasional pink/red spotting. Mostly when wiping, sometimes small amounts on a pad. No extremely heavy bleeding or severe cramping.

My hCG trend:
- 26 Apr: 536
- 28 Apr: 950
- 30 Apr: 1587
- 6 May: 3944
- 8 May: 5178

Progesterone:
- 6 May: 45.9 nmol/L
- 8 May: 36.2 nmol/L

I had an ultrasound on 2 May which showed a very early intrauterine pregnancy measuring around 5 weeks (gestational sac around 5mm). No heartbeat yet, but they said it may have been too early.

I’m booked for a follow-up scan next week but I’m struggling mentally because of the ongoing spotting and slower hCG rise.

Has anyone had similar bleeding + slower rising hCG and still gone on to see a heartbeat/healthy pregnancy? Or did it end up being a miscarriage?

Please be honest. This would be my 3rd miscarriage and I’m just traumatised.

5w5d pregnant bleeding

Hi everyone. I'm currently 5 weeks 5ish days pregnant (first positive 16 April) and I've been bleeding/spotting since 22 April. I'm honestly exhausted and scared and just looking for anyone who's been through something similar.

**My situation:**
- Bleeding started 6 days after my first positive — initially fresh red, then mostly dark brown discharge
- I'm on vaginal progesterone which I know can cause some discharge but this feels like more than that
- Had a scan last Saturday (at ~4w6d) which showed a 5mm gestational sac in the right place — ectopic ruled out
- HCG has been rising, just slower than ideal: 536 → 950 → 1587 → 3944 over about 10 days
- Progesterone level was 45.9 nmol/L (within normal range for pregnancy)
- not much cramping throughout
- The bleeding pattern is mostly old brown blood with occasional fresh red episodes that settle quickly on their own
- Getting another HCG blood test today and seeing a doctor tomorrow

My doctor hasn't been able to give me clear answers yet. Someone mentioned it could be a subchorionic hematoma given the no-cramping pattern and the type of bleeding.

Has anyone else bled this long in early pregnancy and had things turn out okay? Or been diagnosed with SCH? I just need to hear from people who've been through this. 💙

5w5d pregnant with 15+ days of bleeding

I’m exhausted and sooo over this shit. .

I’ve had 2 previous losses:

a blighted ovum that dragged on for way too long before it decided to expel and a chemical pregnancy

I’m currently around 5 weeks pregnant. As soon as I found out, I started doing everything possible — blood tests, prenatal vitamins, progesterone pessaries, monitoring HCG, etc.

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve had ongoing spotting, mostly brown, but it had actually eased off the last few days. Then this morning I noticed some light pink spotting again, and overall there seems to be more brown blood compared to yesterday/the day before.

I honestly don’t know if it’s trauma/anxiety from my previous miscarriages, but I just have this overwhelming feeling that another miscarriage is coming.

For context:
My HCG levels have been rising appropriately (not perfectly doubling, but still increasing well according to my doctor)
I had an ultrasound that confirmed a small intrauterine gestational sac, so they don’t think it’s ectopic
It’s still too early to see a fetal pole/yolk sac, and I’ve been told to repeat the scan in about 2 weeks
Has anyone experienced spotting/cramping like this in a viable pregnancy? Or had a pregnancy where things looked uncertain this early but turned out okay? I think the waiting is just mentally exhausting.

Hi everyone, just looking for honest opinions / similar experiences because I’m really anxious.
Current pregnancy after a previous blighted ovum earlier this year and chemical pregnancy
My HCG results so far:
27/04: 230
29/04: 536 (~48–72 hrs later)
30/04: 950
02/05: 1587 (~48 hrs later)
So my last rise wasn’t a perfect double which is stressing me out.
I’ve also had:
ongoing brown spotting for about 9 days
mild cramping / aching
progesterone level came back at 19.4 nmol/L
Because of the spotting + progesterone level, my doctor started me on 400mg vaginal progesterone pessaries twice daily.
No heavy red bleeding so far.
Doctor says some viable pregnancies can rise slower and wants repeat bloods + ultrasound, but I’m terrified this is another non-viable pregnancy.
Has anyone had:
slower HCG rises like this that still turned out viable?
sac/yolk sac show up later than expected due to late ovulation?
Would really appreciate honest experiences 🙏

Hey everyone, just looking for some insight / similar experiences.

I’m currently early pregnant (around 5 weeks give or take, possibly less due to late ovulation). I’ve been having ongoing light brown spotting (not heavy, no red bleeding) and some mild cramping.

My bloods so far:

HCG: 230 → 536 → 950 (over a few days, roughly doubling every 48–72 hrs)

Progesterone: 19.4 nmol/L (lab range says should be 30+ in pregnancy)

Because of the progesterone level + spotting, my doctor has prescribed vaginal progesterone to start taking.

I had a previous blighted ovum earlier this year, so I’m a bit anxious trying to figure out what’s normal vs not.

Has anyone had:

Lower progesterone like this early on?

Been put on progesterone and had a successful pregnancy?

Similar HCG pattern and spotting that turned out okay?

Would really appreciate any experiences 🙏

Hi everyone, I’m 27F with no living children. I’ve had a blighted ovum and a chemical pregnancy previously. I’m currently about 5 weeks pregnant and have had constant brown spotting for the past week — no breaks, just ongoing light brown discharge. I’ve also been having dull aches in my lower abdomen.

I’ve had two blood tests so far — my hCG was 230, and around 48 hours later it went up to 536. My doctor said it’s still early and technically within a normal range, but not very high, so she couldn’t really give me a clear answer.

I honestly don’t know how to feel. I haven’t told my family or even my husband yet about being pregnant because I’m scared of going through another loss publicly.

Has anyone experienced constant brown spotting like this and had things turn out okay? And do those hCG levels sound normal for this stage? I’m considering getting an ultrasound but I’m really anxious they won’t see baby again.
