Dear plant parents...

I am currently looking to design and print a multi functional drip tray, would love to hear your inputs as plant parents:) Here's how it works:

The tray allows for top or bottom water (in the primary reservoir) using fresh or runoff from another top watered plant. When top watering, the aerated plate is tilted at an angle by the spring valve which allows for better drainage and breaking of the perched water table effect preventing root rot. For bottom watering, the aerated plate is detachable. All moving parts are easily detachable for cleaning. Regardless, once done you simply latch the plate down which in turn opens the valve allowing runoff to drain into a cup without having to lift the pots at all! The higher volume capacity also means you wouldn't have to worry about overflow or leakage from overwatering.

Just trying my luck here 😅 I am currently looking to design and print a multi functional drip tray, would love to hear your inputs as plant parents:) Here's how it works:

For bottom watering, the aerated plate is detachable. Regardless, once done you simply latch the plate down which in turn opens the valve allowing runoff to bypass the vertical arm into a cup for a remote watering experience. The higher volume capacity also means you wouldn't have to worry about overflow or leakage from overwatering.

Smart drip tray for plant parents' banes

Hi everybody! I'm currently looking to design a drip tray that serves more than just collect water like a regular one. Am in the designing stage and would like to better understand what troubles u guys face that desperately need addressed 😭.

From what I've read across multiple subreddits and personal experience, these are what I've gathered and am planning to address: 1) Transferring of multiple pots to and fro the sink or bathtub every watering sesh 2) Root rot from oversaturated soil/sitting in stagnant runoff blocking oxygen flow to roots throguh drainage holes (if any) 3) Overwatering leading to overflow from drip trays/leakage through porous drip trays leaving water marks on furniture.

Other challenges I have noted but find difficulty in addressing/other products already targeting are 1) insufficient/inconsistent sunlight leading to etiolation 2) Forgetting to water their plants 3) Pets being lured to them like moth to a flame

I would greatly appreciate if I could have an honest ranking of what u guys find the most pressing so I can find a solution for u all and ur plant babies. If possible also share what u guys have tried and found useful/not, and any other challenges I have missed out 😅 Thank you all and happy gardening :)))
