I'm 19 and built a 3D marketplace with no creator commission because I was sick of losing 30% — tear it apart

Not going to pretend this isn't my project — it is, and there's a link at the bottom. I'd rather post it honestly and get roasted than dress it up as a "discovery." I've been modeling and printing for years and two things always bugged me: marketplaces take 20-30% of every sale, and there's basically nothing stopping someone from re-uploading your STL the day after you release it. So I built the thing I wanted to exist. What it does differently: Creators keep 100% of the sale price. Buyers pay a flat $1 fee that covers payment processing — that's the whole model, I don't take a cut of your work. Every uploaded mesh gets HiddenMark — a steganographic watermark written into the geometry itself, not metadata you can strip. Public verification, so if your file shows up elsewhere you can prove it's yours. Universal 3D viewer (STL/OBJ/FBX/GLB) so buyers see the actual model before paying. First 100 creators get a permanent "Founding Creator" badge. What I genuinely want: poke holes in it. Does HiddenMark survive a remesh or a repair pass in your slicer? Will the $1 buyer fee scare buyers off? Is "no commission" even sustainable? I'd rather hear the brutal version now than in six months. It's early — small number of creators so far, being upfront about that. Link's here if you want to look in comments

Printed some biomimetic light switch covers (LSO Series)

Just finished printing the first batch of my new LSO (LightSwitchOne) light switch covers. All single-gang, no supports, standard toggle fit.

Textures so far:

  • Leaf
  • Root / Vine
  • Stone
  • Redwood (wood grain)

Printed in plain white PLA for now — planning to experiment with painting and different filaments next. They feel surprisingly nice on the wall.

What do you think? Any favorites or suggestions for future designs?

Files available on Printables, you can find the link in the comment section below.

STEP file preview quality

A couple weeks ago I saw that Printables added previews for STEP files, which I LOVE since I wouldn't need to upload STLs anymore to get a preview. After looking at it though I'm scared that the low quality of the preview would scare folks away from using the objectively better format.

The first pic compares a model I made a while ago, where the STEP file looks like it has half the quality of the STL, while importing it in Orca with default settings gives it almost 6x the triangles with two thirds of the file size. And you can increase that resolution if you want.

I've also made a steering wheel that looks awful in the preview but can easily be configured to give 250k polygons with 1.23MB file size.

I get that the preview has the settings it has for performance reasons, but at this point I'd prefer that the STEP would be turned off until the quality can be improved.

S33D HALO Series — 5 Free Organic Fidget Spinners (No Supports)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a series of fidget spinners inspired by natural geometries. The goal was to create satisfying, well-balanced spinners that print cleanly with zero supports.

Introducing the HALO Collection:

  • Clean one-piece prints
  • Beautiful on the desk or in the hand

Each model explores a different expression of balance and flow — from dual-lobe to triangular to more complex forms.

Free Links (Printables):
HALO 01 → HALO 05
(Full collection page coming soon)

The next four designs (HALO 06–09) are available in a paid bundle on Gumroad for those who want the complete set.

Would love your feedback — especially on print quality, spin times, and any remix ideas. These are part of a larger S33D project focused on biomimicry and regenerative design (print → use → recycle → repeat).

Print one and let me know how it spins!

Razer Seiren Mini Vesa Mount V2

After spending some time learning 3D modeling, I decided to revisit one of my very first designs and give it a proper remake — welcome to V2. 😄

It's a VESA mount adapter for the Razer Seiren Mini that lets you mount the microphone directly to the back of your monitor and position it neatly underneath the screen.

I've improved the design quite a bit since the original version, especially the threaded parts, making it much sturdier and more reliable overall + it now has dedicated cable routing.

And for those who were concerned about it: keyboard noise are not an real issue for coms and other everyday useage however it is not optimal to have the mic at such a distance if u want the best audio quality so for a voiceover u should still hold it very close to your mouth. For me it is perfectly fine an makes the setup much cleaner

I made a device for making an egg more authoritarian

No more peasant-ass cardboard boxes for my eggs—this one is also space-efficient compared to a cardboard box that takes up half the shelf in the fridge.

You can download it here

Thanks for reading my post.
