Display Stand for 3DBenchy with Nameplate & Display Case Support

https://www.printables.com/model/1802133-display-stand-for-3dbenchy-with-nameplate-display

Give your favourite official 3DBenchy the display it deserves!

This display stand is precision designed around the dimensions of the official 3DBenchy, creating a recessed "water effect" base that securely locates the model while giving it a clean, museum-style presentation. It's perfect for displaying a first Benchy, a printer calibration model, a multi-colour masterpiece, or any special commemorative print.

Three model variants are included:

  • 9 mm plaque version for a 9 mm label.
  • 12 mm plaque version for a 12 mm label.
  • No plaque version for a minimalist display, featuring only the simulated water-effect base and outer frame.

Note: if you don't want to use a label printer (Brother/Dymo etc.) why not add text via your slicer software instead to the plaque area, I'd suggest white text on a black background.

For an even more professional presentation, the stand is designed to accept a 70 mm × 70 mm square mini plastic dessert cup, which acts as a clear protective display cover. These are inexpensive and widely available from many online retailers.

Ideal for:

  • First Benchy prints
  • Multi-colour 3DBenchy displays
  • Printer calibration keepsakes
  • Competition entries
  • Exhibition or desk displays
  • Protecting prized prints from dust with an optional clear cover

Whether you're celebrating your very first Benchy or preserving a one-of-a-kind print, this stand provides an attractive and professional way to showcase the iconic 3DBenchy.

Optional: to secure the Benchy in place, a simple piece of double-sided tape does the trick.

Toilet Roll Holder (Over-Under Proof) - Free Model

Toilet Roll Holder (Over-Under Proof)

A print that ends the Over/Under Debate 🧻

Tired of the age-old argument about whether toilet paper should hang over or under? This toilet roll holder removes the issue entirely by using a unique design that makes the orientation of the roll irrelevant. No matter how the roll is fitted, it looks and functions the same.

Designed as both a practical bathroom accessory and a fun conversation piece, this holder adds a little personality to any bathroom while solving one of humanity's most persistent household debates.

Features:

  • Eliminates the classic over vs. under toilet paper dispute
  • Supports toilet rolls up to 110 mm+ wide (Closed-End version) or above (Open-End Version)
  • Decorative outer surround for a clean, distinctive appearance
  • Outer securing lip to help retain the toilet roll in place
  • Smooth filleted edges throughout the design
  • Three rear mounting holes for secure wall installation
  • Functional and easy-to-print design (no supports required)
  • Makes a great novelty addition to any bathroom

Included Variants:

* Open-End Version
A fully open side allows the toilet roll to be slid on and off quickly and easily.

* Closed-End Version
Features a closed outer frame with a loading gap, allowing the toilet roll to be dropped into place while maintaining a more enclosed appearance.

Installation
The holder mounts to the wall using the three screw holes on the rear face. Select screws (and wall plugs) appropriate for your wall type.

Notes

  • Designed for standard toilet rolls up to 110 mm width. The Open-End variant can exceed this limitation.
  • Suitable for home bathrooms, guest bathrooms, offices, workshops, and anywhere a toilet roll is needed
  • Perfect for anyone who has ever had a spirited discussion about the "correct" way to hang toilet paper
  • Designer printed with matte PETG, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, gyroid infill at 20%

If you enjoy functional prints with a touch of humour, this model should fit right in. Enjoy a bathroom where the over/under debate can finally be declared a draw!

Ultimaker 2 Clone [Update] - Fired up & amazed!

No tuning, no belts adjusted, nothing. Just a clean, boot up and a Benchy off the SD card. It's about 13 years old and from I gather it was not used in over 7+years. It sat idle at the local school and I'm close to returning it with a demo. The 1.75mm filament works like a charm, from what I can see so far it was converted (or even built) for 1.75mm fulltime use.

The filament (see last photo), so old, solid spools, dried them for 12hrs to give them a chance, we'll see how they preform. The filament box was blank, with one single sticker with "Made in China" and all the number on the side "908769-1KGPLA" results in nothing I can find. Amazing for an oldie, untouched unit. Someone somewhere knew what they were doing when they built this. Also makes me want to get a glass plate while using a glue stick for my Prusa Core One, I had to freeze the prints off.

Update: The printer was updated (firmware) via Cura in 2023 but when they went to print it printed a odd model in place of a 3D Benchy and then turned it off again thinking the memory was corrupt. Turns out the STL was just saved as another custom model. It has sat idle for a while before and since. More facts in the comments I discovered today.
Update 2: There is a chance it might have an E3D custom firmware but based on the Ultimater Marlin UM2 Gen6 fork

This is an updated v2 model with better ventilation!

Yes, another one, but wait.... this is a little different (again). This raises the UTR against a surface, like a powerbank, and has added (& improved) ventilation running across the entire underside of the device with the aim of reducing temperatures. Grab yourself one (v2) for free, with the aid of a 3D printer, over at Printables! (Model by Grogg-3D)

(v1 with less ventilation but more robust is here. v1 does not require supports)

Powerbank: UGREEN Nexode Qi2 10,000mah (PB763)
USB- Cable: Xiwai 2cm Ultra Slim Flat USB-C Type C to USB-C Power Dual Angled (Adafruit/Amazon/Aliexpress)

v2 now released, get it here. It has more ventilation but needs supports when printing.
