Can't believe this network switch exists

I couldn't believe this actually existed so I bought it to see how bad it would be.

I don't think any of these PCB traces nor the switch pass as cat5/6 compliant.

But technically it does link at 100, and would even do POE

Tire is tired

GT with 1600 MI ... Today while riding I noticed a reoccurring thump... Found a small bulge on the left side and curiously the little hairs from the wheel were never really ground down there, like they were everywhere else... Then while cleaning the board to put it away, I noticed an even bigger bump on the opposite side.

I guess I need a new tire, is this common/expected at this mileage? I've had the board since May 2025 is there a better longer lasting tire I should be getting?

Block all DNS requests until a specific lookup

I need a way so that when something starts using technium DNS, it won't resolve anything, or would resolve everything to a known lan IP that shows a blocked or instructions page. Upon doing a lookup for a dedicated/complicated DNS name, that would then release it so that particular client IP could resolve queries through technium DNS as normal.

This is great in terms of network security, a captive portal type of situation.

Is there a way to do this built in or a plug-in, or do I need to develop this myself?

No more falling drinks in the fridge

Bottom of my GE fridge has this indent which might have been to make the metal stronger/less wobbly.. But we removed the useless drawer and store drinks on the bottom and they were always falling over... This 3D print solves the problem.

Need to throw out a bunch of wood

From the deck I helped my neighbor rebuild. Is my only option renting a dumpster for $300 ????

The wood is ok, removed all the screws, but stain is peeling and lots of screw holes obviously.

Elgin/Randal rd area.

white cartridge "empty" - save the chip?

So my "empty" white cartridge still weighs 2.9oz
I guess I should have kept printing the last sheet of stickers to use up that "10%" ... my bad...

https://preview.redd.it/z6wo3v622x3h1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8903846f1a5f2707c21a736dae0f51a5b282247

Is there any advantage to saving the chip off these cartridges for others who are refilling, only my machine has "seen" the chip, right, someone else's machine would still think it's "new" or is the 29/01/2027 expiry date encoded on the chip too?

White doesn't come out until later part of the print

Seems that after it's in maintenance mode and it does the 5 to 9 minutes of squirting ink. The first print white still doesn't come out until the later half... Experienced this twice now, anyone else?

How can I force just tail scale traffic through one ISP?

I have multiple ISPs for redundancy. How could I force tailscale to always exit WAN2? Unfortunately, some of my external tail scale clients will always use derp, I don't just want to force the derp connection over WAN2, but also the bandwidth of the VPN/encrypted traffic connection.

Side question, if I hosted my own derp/relay server would my backups to external places be faster than relying on the public derps ... Only as fast as the internet connection that hosts my relay server right?

Has there been any improvements to the filament runout detection where the little PTFE feeder tube you insert filament into on the XL? Seems like my filament is getting stuck or bound up right there and it vibrates or squeaks.
