Deciding btwn 5 seater or 7 seater...

Pls help me decide between a 5 seater or 7 seater for my next car! Need a new a car asap. We have a 2yo and planning to expand our family, at least 1-2 more kids. We have my niece & nephews often, or a family member with us etc. I commute so I always have extra clothes & just "stuff" in my car. I had a 2024 Mazda CX-5, loved it. It did start feeling a bit tight if I had my son in the car, groceries, stroller, other bags etc.

Okay so, my Husband recently got the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid. His is the "family car". I planned on getting another 5 seater thinking eh, we don't really need two big SUV's since we'll use hubby's more. But the more I think about it, it makes more sense long term to get another 7 seater (looking at the Santa Fe). I know i'll want a bigger car within the next 5 years. But also, I can wait 5 years for the bigger SUV, it's not an URGENT matter.

Pls share your thoughts & advice, pls be kind. Thank you!

I need a new car asap due to mine being totaled in an accident. I had a 2024 Mazda CX-5 & loved it, it was my first time leasing. I had to put 5k down, $519/mo. Husband recently got the Hyundai Palisade (7 seater) since we're expanding our family, but we don't need two big suvs. I also commute so potentially need Hybrid, but fine with gas. Do NOT want fully electric vehicle.

So I'm looking for a spacious 5 seater, good trunk space, sporty/sleek look. Don't wanna break my bank either. Planned to look at Mazdas again, Hyundai..not sure what else. Many are encouraging me to buy, especially since I commute & would run the miles up quickly with leasing. But the interest rates aren't that great right now to buy (right?), granted I could finance through my credit union.

Any car recommendations? And thoughts on leasing vs buying right now?

I will get straight to the point. My 2024 Mazda CX-5 was hit in March. Thought it was just cosmetic damage until shop confirmed it is a total loss (still shocked at that). Attorneys are working closely with insurance & repair shop. Car is now at a salvage yard. Insurance offered Mazda more than required, so the leftover amount of $1400 will come to me. I have been in a rental through Progressive, but that will end any day now since the car done with. I can't afford to pay for a rental daily and Progressive isn't liable to continue paying. So now I need to get a new car pretty much ASAP.

I am so confused how I'm only getting $1400??? Like what! Is that normal? I am so mad because this stupid driver has caused so many issues for me. Not only with my now total loss car, but the injuries I sustained. I am receiving chiropractic care 2x/week, starting massages next week. So essentially the car part of my settlement is over and now it's all about the injury, which I am nowhere near recovering. So I will continue receiving medical care.

Does this $1400 sound right? I know there's differences in payout when leased vs owned, but sheesh. Any advice welcome.
