I closed 4 short options early again this week at 0.05 (2 in another account not shown). Still trying to get into the habit of taking profit and risk off early.
This time I actually put in GTC order right after opening, feels good 👍 😌
today i closed a short position at $0.05 premium and quite proud of myself
it was 2pm (2 more hrs until exp) and still about $3 away from IMT, i thought it was not worth the risk & anxiety to risk the majority of profit for the remaining 5 bucks, so went ahead to close it.
normally i wouldn't close because i'm greedy (and lazy) although i know closing is the right move. today i overcome that laziness and greediness and did the right thing.
might be a trivial thing, but still want to celebrate!

My 6 year-old RTX3080 (10GB) could run this 35B MOE model and it shocked me that the results are actually usable.
What I mean is that it's not just chatting with it but connecting with a coding agent like Pi and letting it do the work.
When I first tested Qwen it was really slow like 10token/s so I didn't bother trying. Now with the optimizations it runs at 40+t/s stable with 128k context. I was considering to purchase a mac studio but I guess this can last me for a while now :)
i want to test futures option, have never done them before but fairly confident with stock options. for ES what would be a good account size to play short put there? just 1 contract each time.
google says the margin is probably around 15k-20k but i'm aware the notional is like ~350k so wanted to ask experts here, thanks!
i started developing & testing my trading bot since last Friday May 15, so far ive been using on only 0DTE TSLA options that are far OTM.
my account size is small started with ~38k so i can only trade 1 TSLA option safely at any given time. each day when 0DTE is available, bot would scan option chain and find around 10-15 delta, then asks approval for trade. i still need to manually approve now.
the bot is driven by an AI agent, codex, which im using the pro plan ($100/mo). if the profit is sustainable then i'm basically getting a top tier AI for free.
the numbers:
4 trades, one each on May 15, 18, 20, 22. all short OTM calls
4 wins (all expired), total profit is about $169
it's still very early stage and sometimes doesn't get data fully so i had to manually intervene. i'm also adding new functionalities each day as a need comes up, e.g. today i just added cancel / update order
day 2 of experimenting & building a trading bot, and this was the 2nd trade by the bot.
today was tricky because stock went down ~10 when i got ready to trade. interactive brokers didn't give me all valid greeks so i had to manually pick a strike.
i generally pick between 5-15 delta options. the 420c was about 11 delta. premium was low but i still approved the trade

my AI trading bot made me $81 today selling a 0DTE option, and i still couldn't believe it...
this morning the bot sold a TSLA 440C, at the time it was about 11 delta so looked safe, so it executed the order and sold a credit of $81. underlying price was about $429 at the moment.
ive been watching the market entire day, by 4pm the underlying was still hovering around 429, and the 440C expired worthless.
if i get another green day, basically the bot can make enough to cover my monthly AI bot cost.
crazy thing is that i just made the bot last night, paper trading required register and approval, so i'm like f*ck it let's just go real money.
