Planning stage advice

Hi all, I'm going to be redoing my deck in the spring but need advice so I don't have to re do it later.

We would like to have a covered porch but our soffit and roof line are difficult to imagine being able to get a new porch roof in there.

I'm looking at doing a metal roof in two years, and was wondering if I should redo the deck and have the roofers be able to change the roof line, or don't put in a deck and instead pour a pad and put in steps to the front door.

That way we would have a blank space for the enclosed porch.

I'm really just spinning with what I should do to make life easier for the builder. I don't want to cause issues for them. But the deck is coming down this spring.

Roof 21 square 10/12 pitch, soffit is about a foot.

If we go with metal I don't want an avalanche on us every time we close or open the door.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance I appreciate it.

Confused about the Common App

Hi my kiddo is a sr this year looking at a few schools.

One forum I was on said said students applying to Pitt should get an application in early even if they don't have all their sat scores ect.

I explained this to them and was told by them that they were waiting because we needed to have the FAFSA form done. But reading here it seems like it's a box we check and send in later?

FAFSA for next year gets done Oct 1st correct?

I'm lost please any help! Ty.

Not sure where to begin ?

Hi all, I have an area under our deck that I have out in pavers, added a metal roof to dry out underneith, built a stone seating wall, redid the 4x4 posts to 6x6s and built in a little retaining wall.

I have a sink in my basement, and right after the glider is a water hose spicket ,

I'm not sure how to transform this anymore.

Maybe a l shaped bar, storage area where the totes of my charcoal are? Or do a built in for a gas grill, etc. how did you figure out what to build! 😂 Sorry I have seen so many awesome builds I'm just overwhelmed.

Any help would be appreciated, just so I can wrap my brain around what needs to be done. Thank you.

New hats

Left is a rodeo king that the Texas tack folks shaped for me. I was waiting for the stetson bighorn to get back in stock ( the day the rodeo arrived the bighorn became available. ...so I have them both. The stetson fits really comfortably, and I like the hat band. The rodeo I will need to break in and I am adding a new hatband that I made. Overall very happy with them both.
