I just did an at home dip stick and tested positive for leucocytes. I was experiencing some increased urgency and burning and I wanted to check. I've been on Hiprex for over 2 months. I haven't had sex in a while which is my only UTI trigger. What's going on? Am I dehydrated? Do I have a UTI?

I just wanted to share a good experience with bactrim (3 day). Macrobid has always caused extreme fatigue and vomiting, and the week long course was brutal. It also felt like it never fully cleared up the UTI and I also would end up with a YI. I finally told my doctor that I have trouble with macrobid and she started me on bactrim instead. I can't believe I never knew about this antibiotic before! I understand many people probably have very different experiences with it, but I just wanted to put my good experience out there, as I have a lot of anxiety surrounding medication and appreciate reading success stories :).
My side effects (and lack of them):
- Slight urethral burning when mildly dehydrated
- increased anxiety (could be for a multitude of reasons, fixed with CBD)
- zero stomach upset. Azo caused far more nausea than Bactrim, for me
Again, I don't want to invalidate anyone's poor experience with this drug!! I just want to provide my positive personal experience
